You may recall I ordered a bikini & a swimsuit from an Australian website and discovered they were really shipping from China. In a great surprise, the parcel arrived! In less of a surprise, the bikini was not enclosed. I've sent an email asking for a refund...will see what happens next.

My third and final funding/residency application for the year just got rejected. That's 3 for 0. Right on the heels of writing "We need funding" in my submission on the NZ government's Amplify Strategy on culture and heritage.
Time for a margarita 🍸

I can't stomach the arrogance of the man whose party got a mere 8.64% of the votes a year ago claiming that the Hikoi is not representative of New Zealanders. HE's the one who's NOT representative.

#Tauranga Peeps!
Local horror writer, Lee Murray, was a script writer for the horror film Grafted.
#Grafted is gory and uniquely Kiwi black comedy about a Chinese student who finds a new way of achieving popularity, one body at a time.
Come along to a red carpet viewing followed by a chat with Lee at 7.00 pm, this Tuesday (12 Nov) at Bayfair.
See you there!

Creating and writing monsters can seem daunting. In my Halloween blog, I suggest you look to the depths of the ocean for influence. The horrifying monsters are already there under the cold, dark and crushing weight of the depths.

Why yes I did just spend the day researching creatures of the deep sea for my Halloween writing blog - Monsters of the Deep.
Such fun!

In an unwellness update...I feel like absolute shit and have lost my senses of taste and smell, so that sucks big time.

At 2am, #ShadowCat ran through my bedroom with an enormous rat in his mouth. He released the very alive rat in the lounge. So there we were, a cat, a rat, and a naked woman armed with a bokken (wooden practice sword) and an unreasonable high heart rate. The rat found the gap behind the fixed gas heater, which is impossible to access. The only option was to open the external sliding door, shut the inside doors, and hope it left in what was left of the night.
I got maybe 2 hours sleep 😴 😭

Had to tell a golf bud to stop trying to talk politics with me today. She'd decided we'd find common ground on Elon Musk being a great guy. When I asked her why she thought I'd like a fascist, who's disowned his own trans chid, she looked at me weird and said, 'I guess you like that Kamala woman too?' (Keep in mind, we live in Aotearoa- so doubly strange) I just said yes, and told her to stop. How, after 5 years, has she not figured out how different we are?
