Herr Irrtum! 🔊 🏳️‍🌈

Also known as die nmi! (which stands for "die nicht maskierte irrtum!" but currently I don't like to use this name, as I'm a fan of wearing a mask during a world wide pandemic) I'm active since 1856 in terms of electrifried #music, yes electrifried – that's the term we time travelers use.
In former times also active as The Shock, TDB (the depressive bit) and da nme! (demo scene of the 90s).
Also doing #shortMovies and #shortStories.
Currently hosting a monthly #radioShow in Berlin.
On top of that I'm active in anti surveillance activities.
I know quite a bit about #Linux (using it exclusively private and professional). Am an wandering 80smusic encyclopedia, know all about #8bit computer games and being a #demoScene fanatic.
Luvin' #halfTime bass music.
BTW: The birth date is NOT correct (being a time traveler and all I just put it in to give you a rough idea – think as a service for normal human beings like most of you are).
Deserved veteran of the Alt Text karma police.

No favorite drum machine but also fascinated by early (half mechanical) ones like the Wurlitzer Sideman with a similar percussive sound.
My least favorite drum machine was the one built in the Yamaha Portasound 470 (and similar FM "entertainment"/toy synths). I could program my own patterns, ok, but the thin snare was super annoying. It's all (2 operator?) FM Synthesis, no samples, that's why.
Used it from 1988 til 1991 and found every trick there is to make the PSR470 sound cool ;) . As an east block kid this was all I could get, and I was very lucky to have it, but boy this snare!
Can be heard in AG Geige "Nasenwalzer" (Track 19 of Yachtclub & Buchteln, 1987, one of the weaker pieces on this album, still fun Text wise when understanding German). https://tapeattack.blogspot.com/2019/09/ag-geige-yachtclub-buchteln.html?m=1 (I couldn't find it anywhere else on the net right now, sry for the complicated link).
In this case it's one of the standard preset patterns, pretty sure.
But I came here to say: What a killer track you selected here!
Probably the first time I've come across this as the early 70s are still mostly a mysterium to me... this one is just sooo amazing!!
I'm a Sly Stone fan now, I guess ;) . Better late than never...

I'm in rage mode right now.
Preparing my next radio show (with 38°C outside - it's cooler in my room but not much) and there are at least 2 so called "labels" that do not provide ANY info about the artists they are supposed to propagate.
Both have a Bandcamp page with no further info, and then... Instagram only, where I am refuse to go - I can however scroll a bit through those labels Insta feed without a login: While they both announce the album I want to introduce, there is NOTHING about the artist to be found.
What is the purpose of a label then?
If you don't support your own artists?
I'm kinda fed up by this.

I dunno, somehow this doesn't make me happy.
There is another alternative to corporate owned Bandcamp now. Not that Bandcamp is bad or something, but yes, corporate owned. Musicians releasing on Bandcamp depend on decisions by the owner. Rules could be changed by tomorrow.
So that's why we have now at least @nprofile…28n3 and bandwagon.fm . Both born and operating from a free open source community spirit.
Good.
Now there comes - new!…
subvert.fm
They are a CoOp - means community drive by definition. Not bad, sure.
But I'm not too happy anymore. Because WHY?
As a musician I have to make through 4 different complex release processes now:
1. Bandcamp (of course - this is, where people are discovered. Important thing for most musicians)
2. Mirlo
3. Bandwagon
4. subvert
2-4 forcing me through a ridiculous user unfriendly Paypal alternative: Stripe.
Personally I have no idea at least for Mirlo how to setup Stripe in a way, people could pay per Album or per Title. In Bandwagon I didn't even try.
Now Subvert even advertises Stripe as a good feature, as it's not Paypal. But Stripe is US based as well. They have no problem to cut your money flow just for rumors of you being anti fascist (the most human and democratic stance) or someone claims you take money for doing naughty things (also human behavior in the history of mankind).
This happened already.
Good luck contacting their hotline in such a case.
While saying all this I'm well aware: Anything not Paypal should be preferred. But there aren't much alternatives, and the one (one! besides Crypto) we've got isn't necessarily and objectively better.
But the main problem I see:
We devide attention to musicians this way!
Every new service takes away users and supporters from the others.
And music is cluttered all over the place even more. Good luck finding that particular piece of music that could really change your life when it's on Mirlo only.
Even more sad, when someone releases on his:her:their Faircamp only. How to find that when you don't know about the artist in the first place.
Personally I've given up here as a "semi professional consument". I need around 40h to prepare my radio show of 1 hour. I can't check #Mirlo, #Bandwagon, #Subvert, and the #Faircamp scene extra - on top of checking #Bandcamp. A lot of bands, let alone consumers don't even know about Bandcamp! And that is by far the most agreed upon service for indie and underground artists. Then there is also Soundcloud (which I hate) - lots of trap/hip-hop stuff is exclusively there.
If I read here in the Fediverse (my only social network) about new releases, best already embedded in your post - I'll listen.
Don't get me wrong. I really wish for a community driven Bandcamp alternative. But I hate the clutter resulting from so many upcoming players in the field.
Which all can't be avoided - I see that too. Is this whole post worthless then? Maybe. Maybe not. I have no solution. I'm just thinking loud.

Did you ever like the groove of a music track, starting to dance to it but then you stumble because the beat seems to reset itself randomly? I've got a bunch of those tracks this time in
RADIO IRRTUM! !!
so happy dance lurching :)
--- ↓↓↓ Deutsch Version below unten ↓↓↓ ---
The next issue of #RadioIrrtum! will arrive this Saturday, 2026/04/11, 8:00pm UTC+2/Berlin time/CET. On Alex Berlin at DAB+ K12D in #Berlin/Brandenburg and worldwide @ https://www.alex-berlin.de/radio-livestream .
A German language #radioShow exploring the sonic vastness of the #underground. Emitted transmissions may raise attention for new unheard #music. Don't worry about the #GermanLanguage aspect - this is about #music!
So what's in it?
- #AlternativePop
- #offline Music
- cluttered #Beats
- super #slowBass with DnB elements
- #UKGarage
- #fingerdrumming
- #ByteBeat from #Math formulas
- #microtonal #MathPunk
- #Punk of various flavors (Post~, Garage~)
- #livingroom music from Brazil and Lebanon
On top I will pronounce words wrong at an embarrassing amount, & play stuff that isn't available at #Spotify, which simply shows how much this service sucks.
Besides unusual rhythmic structures there will be examples of microtonal music (explained even!) – if you followed the music news the last weeks you may already know which project will be featured.
Featured are #FediverseMusicians as well, like @nprofile…vegv or @nprofile…sce4 .
But a very special one among those #fediartists will be @nprofile…3yhx.
This is probably your ONLY chance to have a listen to one piece of his offline album "Strategies against Algorithms" if you don't already own it. It will only be played during the aired show, it won't be contained within the archive version! You know: That's what "offline" is all about.
I'll post playlist + manuscript later here. Having questions? I'll gladly answer. Just ask. CU all on Saturday! :)
