I'm getting irritated at the amount of AI shit that's still showing up on Bandcamp.
I don't want to listen to a summary of a fucking genre, I want to hear the people who bled into the recordings and feel their pain.

Y'know... I've known that ADHD is a dopamine deficiency problem, but never really stopped to consider how that impacts how I function.
How I'd keep gravitating towards shit that makes me angry. Like, how I'd lose hours to Twitter and shit because anger delivers dopamine. Like... conflict makes me happy... because it actually gives me energy to do stuff I actually want to do.
How I need music to function at all in my day. How to start my day, while I love me my caffeine, it's mostly the flavour of coffee or energy drinks that I look forward to.
Like... I knew... but I never really absorbed that information. And like... started considering how to use this information to figure out how to function.

People complaining about Bluesky and social media and how it's controlled by assholes, and how they want a different solution, and then you bring up Mastodon and they're like "not like that".

Hey. SEGA AGES Phantasy Star is on sale for $3.14 CAD on Switch and if you ever had an interest in the game you should grab it. It's got an automapper for dungeons and some general QoL that make it the definitive version.
I just really fucking wish it was available on more platforms. This version is Switch only... but it's soooo good!

These fuckin' gamer dudes who have their framerate drop from 60 to like 45 for a literal split second and are like "this is unplayable".

This is your friendly reminder to add alt text to your images. It includes more people and it's just a solid thing to do. If the main point of your post is the image, and there's no descriptive text I'm not boosting that shit.

It's amazing how much of my life I've just stayed quiet because I didn't want to annoy anyone.
I'd hold off on posting stuff. Hell! I'd even hold off on retweeting/retooting/sharing stuff I liked because that was still me making noise.
I was trained that way my whole life. I annoyed people and they let me know. And I spent most of my life feeling really alone. Of course I did. Sharing yourself is the primary way of letting people know who you are and if they'd even want to associate with you.
So, here I am, nearing my 40th birthday and only just now feeling comfortable just broadcasting all of me into the world. I don't care if I annoy some people. Those weren't my people anyways.

Oh cool! Apparently Neil Gaiman's got multiple sexual assault allegations.
Just what I needed to hear. Another fucking man prioritizing his pee pee over other people.

@nprofile…93zc Managed to get 13. That's a neat little game. I wasn't expecting to get the ones I did as easily as I did.

@nprofile…3qtz Yeah, that's the line of thinking I was going down with the artistic angle.
I think I agree with you, except I don't put the blame all on Steam, because to my understanding, they were told to do so by govs. They've kept the game out in other regions, which shows they're not trying to wash their hands of it entirely.

I'm not a violent person...
I don't think I could kill someone...
But the fucker who keeps blowing his nose on the walls at work really seems to want to test that line.

First, sorry to Jeremy for the semi-hijacking your post. I didn't want to just boost and discuss without content warning this.
I'm torn. @nprofile…3qtz made this post about a game that was delisted from Steam in the UK, Germany, and Australia.
https://freefree.ps/@jmcnaughton/113552453099075577
I haven't played the game (not my thing), but I've watched all of the promotional videos for it and honestly... the game's fine. The only bit that kind of made me uncomfortable was the glorification of the execution of soldiers on their knees... buuut... I'm uncomfortable with that kinda shit all the time.
(Not gonna lie, janky physics and fucking slow-mo flying through the air made me laugh with delight)
I guess the problem comes from a more recent update that quasi-recreates one of the attacks on January 7th. It does not involve civilians, but the developer is very clear that this is inspired by the real conflict.
But a lot of games do this kind of historical fiction thing. We've got games that let you play as the Confederates, or Nazis, or any number of groups that have historically been shitheels. Is it a case of "too soon"? Or is this all just a bias because "brown people bad"?
I'm torn because emotionally, I don't like this game; but when I actually think about it, I can't actually point to what's wrong with it. From an artistic perspective... it's an expression of anger. I've written songs that are violent and scary to express my rage, what makes a game different?
I think Steam is required to abide by laws, and I don't fault them for delisting it.
Yeah. I dunno. Thoughts?

Yeah, it's in my bio, but I'm in a plugging mood today.
While not representative of what I'm currently working on or what my current style (or skill) is, I do love making music and made two... "collections of songs". They're rough, but they're special to me.

@nprofile…0py4 TIL it's out.
Thanks for the reminder. I'll go check it out.
Why the "idk"? Just a manner of speaking, or is that an unpopular opinion?

2024-11-14 21:42:33 UTC

Binged my way through Hazbin Hotel. Shit's sooo good. I loved it.
Some people mentioned Helluva Boss, so I checked that out right after.
... meh?
Doesn't have the same magic. Few eps in and I'm kinda done. Don't really like any of the characters.

@npub1y5h…7m3c Yes please. I've thought this for a while now. Nothing undermines my identity than making it sound like I'm something other than my identity, identifying as it.

Why do microwaves have popcorn buttons if every popcorn bag has specific instructions to not use the popcorn button?

Just had a moment while cutting grass where I realized what I was actually doing and now I feel really bad for the grass.
