It's end of October, so Carmichael's monkshood (monnikskap) is in full bloom. These radiant purple flowers really light up the garden, they are so wonderful.
It's very windy, so the photo isn't all that sharp. But the colours came out so well without any adjustment at all! They really are dark but bright purple, an amazing colour.

I really does change the way it burns.
The flame is usually taller/bigger, so I need to place something under the glass container above a tea light. I think it's also to do with the wick; it changes the wick and makes it stiffer, and it stays longer. But it's good that this doesn't create more soot.

Here is Konijn, when I still had his beloved carpet that I miss so much. He misses it too; it was perfect to swim along its sides because it was a big circle and he could pull himself along on the floor by grabbing the sides, and he could roll on it, and when Okki was still alive he would lie flat on his back on this carpet, as did Konijn.
And it was, of course, the perfect place to perform his Origami Craft.

Sony 😟
A long time ago, I could buy Adobe software and would receive a big box containing the software CD, a CD with instructions, and even a thick book. The software was 'forever' and a real investment, sometimes people skipped a version and then purchased the next version. It was an investment: if you make money with it, you pay for it. It's that simple.
A version later, I received a smaller box with a CD and a leaflet. This felt like 'Well! Oh well'.
After that, I received a thin box with the CD. I remember seeing it and feeling a bit disappointed. It also proved my feelings had been right the last time.
For the version after that, I received a code via email and had to download the software.
And finally, they got rid of all that and I had to get a subscription. All keys to download software were removed and recalled. Many suspicious companies quickly purchased tons of keys and sold them as 'valid software', meaning clients could only install on 1 computer, and the software was not on their own name.
What really galled me: people paid for 'forever' software and yet; Adobe locked them out. Downloads were removed from their accounts and if you didn't save them to disk you were screwed.
They also said 'Yeah but this is Adobe Cloud so you can always access your work'. But if you cancel the subscription you can't even open your files any more, and if you use alternative software A LOT is lost because that software simply doesn't have the same tools. You may be left with a flat image that you can only stare at, and would have to start again.
So, as an Adobe teacher, I always alert clients to this, not use the Adobe cloud for storage, and I tell them Adobe 'knows them' and that privacy matters.
Some really care, others listen and may not let it sink in. But maybe one day they will remember this.
And now; Sony.

THREE hours.
Three.
Because Adobe Acrobat does not render colours correctly. Again.
This has been going on for years.
You change *nothing*.
And suddenly, poof, the colours are all wrong.
Nothing works.
Resetting security can work. Which is crazy.
But alas, did not.
I double-clicked to open perfect PDF 'A' that showed the correct colours in Illustrator, Photoshop, heck, even in Word.
Adobe Acrobat messed up the colours.
I just right-clicked on 'A'.
I chose 'Open with Adobe Acrobat'.
It showed the colours correctly.
I then double-clicked on 'A' to open it.
Adobe Acrobat displayed the colours correctly.
I mean. What the actual FUCK is going on with Adobe Acrobat? What? This has been so frustrating for years.
Sorry for the rant.
And yeah, I know about alternative software.
But the point is: Adobe Acrobat.

@npub1s55…2phf

2026-06-02 16:35:46 UTC

- reply

@npub1s55…2phf

2026-06-02 16:22:52 UTC

- reply

The disruptions will affect every aspect of society. To make this work we need to agree on how to explain to people they will have less good, interesting jobs."

Wilson believes women shouldn't hold political office & should not be in the military.
Husbands should have dominion over misbehaving wives’ weight, spending habits, & choice of tv programs. This vision was once marginal. But since its elevation by Hegseth, no longer is.
Wilson and Andrew Tate base Masculism on religion, influenced by male headship of the family and Saint Paul’s belief that godly women should be quiet. Woman-bashing plays and sells well for crypto, sports betting, supplements.

Yes, that's what it is. Sentimental value although I have zero recollection of her ever using them.

Neither would I!
They belonged to an old aunt and I never used them. I really don't know what to do with them, I never use aluminium in the kitchen. I can't even remember if she ever used them for me, but I don't think so.

Burning wood is not a good idea!
And people keep doing it, it's so incredibly short-sighted. It's much better to either leave them alone so they can do what they do best, or to use them in different ways.

Yeah, paper is really a mess nowadays. I try to avoid using it, printed newspapers are also so bad. If it's not the ink, it's the bleached paper, and if it's not that it's the destruction of nature while felling trees or treating them to create paper. It's bad. I avoid it as much as possible.
