Dear friends and supporters of Yureii, kind people,
I got bad news from Yureii's cousin Jean in the Phillipines:
Yureii was so shaken up by her cat Jury's missing and his death ... she has attempted suicide.
She tried to hang herself, then was found by a neighbor, and is now in the hospital.
**Here is what her cousin mailed me**
*(I wrote to her via the paypal e-mail address because I was really worried, since there were no posts of our friend since the above message from Febr. 21st):*

Your vet seems to be knowledgeable with feral-like cats, kudos.
Which brings me to share this invaluable manual (using a full body towel to examine or medicate the cat),
from the feral cat rescue Tinykittens HQ:
**"How to: low-stress handling for feral cats"**

This is outstanding!
"Why Solarpunk is already happening in Africa"
> The grid that never came turned out to be a blessing ... Africa built the 21st-century version instead.
> Modular. Distributed. Digital. Financed by the people using it, subsidized by the carbon it avoids.
> The solarpunk future isn’t speculative fiction. It’s 23 million solar systems, 40 million people, and a template for how infrastructure gets built when you’re not stuck defending the past.

Pro tip: Have you tried offering them Churu (lickable cat treats)? 😁
Feral cat groups highly recommend them...

Wow, you provided your little cat family outside with a very nice house to get shelter from the elements! 👍 :blobcatlove:
Did I understand it correctly, they are still rather shy and feral, but you are working on gaining their trust, right?

Want another advice? Feed all of them really well before the meet-up. Full tummies dont fight...
Have treats and toys at the ready, to diffuse situations.
Hissing and some swatting is to be expected, it's their way of communicating "you are too close to me, back off".

This is why I love the Canadian **feral cat rescue group TinyKittens.com** so much! 💚
Since ten years Shelly Roche of B.C., Canada, and her team of dedicated cat ladies and gents have made it their mission to showcase compassion for feral cats.
Not only do they work hands-on to do TNR, to save pregnant momcats (so they can have their last litter in safety) and to treat injured cats (thankfully with donations from their online followers, due to their 24/7 livecams https://tinykittens.com/live).
**But a major focus is to educate the world that #feralCatsMatter and are worth the compassion, love and support.**
> > "Our TNR efforts in 2024 will prevent more than 1240 kittens from being conceived in 2025. We've heard from so many of you [YT followers] who have been inspired to start TNR efforts in your own communities, amplifying that number exponentially on a global scale.“
TinyKittens highlights the worth of well-managed **cat colonies** – at the same time they work hard with every feral cat that spends medical time with them, to show them that life inside with humans is not so bad.
Not all candidates want to give up their ‚feral card’ … these can return to their friends at the colony, for cats form wonderful friendships in their groups.
Now for some laughter (and maybe a tear) - Enjoy their **Year-2024 compilation video** of great moments and gratitude! https://youtu.be/i3mtU0dwY0A
