Talking about "No Kings"... Washington state is a dictatorship run by democrats.
Voters passed an initiative rejecting a law that banned natural gas from future home builds. The WA supreme court just rejected the initiative. It doesn't matter what voters say. Only what democrats in Olympia want is allowed to stand.

The thought that lawmakers and regulators are the best equipped to put AI systems in place is beyond laughable.

I just heard on a podcast something that resonated with me. If you're the CEO of Anthropic or OpenAI and you're saying that you're developing something that will destroy the world, you should do either of:
1. Close the company
2. Resign and let someone else run it who can develop the AI without the major risks
But doing neither tells me that it's all a political game.

2026-09-15 21:28:16 UTC

- reply

I agree that we need to develop AI with some guardrails although no guardrails protect us against people and their intentions.
We have a tremendous opportunity to transform society for the better.
I just find it curious that suddenly, the CEOs of OpenAI and Anthropic are both screaming for regulation and that somehow, government employees would be able to tell the Anthropic employees what to do to make AI safe.
Pair this with the data center hysteria and you got a perfectly coordinated PR campaign.

The people screaming about the AI doom & gloom are the same ones that spent years screaming about global warming, then rebranded to scream about climate change.
AI is the new boogie man. And not coincidentally, all these doom & gloom campaigns are funded by the same entity: China.
First it was to cripple the energy infrastructure of its enemies and now it's to cripple the innovation.
China succeeded crippling Europe's energy infrastructure and almost succeeded with US.
Let's not get even close with AI and innovation.

I’m using Claude with the Max plan ($100/month) for code development and now also design.
My team has a set of Claude skills that we all share to help us automate tasks and coordinate development. As we come up with new routines, they get added to this set of skills and shared across the team. For example, after completing a large task, you ask Claude if there is something that could be done more easily as a skill, and then you ask it to create the skill 😁
We spend significant time brainstorming with Claude on design, specifications and test coverage so that agents can produce higher quality code and other agents can maintain it.
For personal use I have Maple AI ($20/month) and ChatGPT ($20/month) when I need image generation. I use ChatGPT less and less and will likely go back to the free version.
Paying $100/month for work is a no brainer. The output I produce is at the very least 2x.

My productivity with AI has skyrocketed. What I can do now compared with 2 years ago is mind blowing.
Back in 2024 I came to the conclusion that access to AI would be equivalent to what access to the Internet is today. Without it, you will be excluded from society.
All the AI fear mongers want you to be left behind and become a slave of the state, begging for handouts. Don't let them do that to you!
Start using AI, even if it's just to ask basic questions. Start exploring everything you can do with it. Every day you will learn something new.
