This is a stupid system that basically restricts vocational education to the under 19s only. So you can't decide at 25 you want to become a plumber or a hairdresser or whatever.
It's utterly bonkers. No one so many people are trapped in their industry unhappy as their is no room to learn something new.

2025-04-25 16:26:02 UTC

When did the UK shut adults out from further education. When I was 23 I went back to college to get a child care qualification. Most of the people on my course where 17 and 18 but one of us was 21 and my the oldie at 23/24.
My son was looking at retraining and wanted to do a IT Btec. Apparently you can't go to college anymore if you are over 19. That's it. You are out. So your only option is to pay for certificates.
He can't go back to Uni either as he already had a student loan

@nprofile…x759 Hi Neil
Is there any truth in the fact that if you don't make any money from your blog then it does not fall under the Online Safety bill law?

2025-03-04 17:49:01 UTC

So my blog is officially broken for all UK visitors.
Sadly, the #OnlineSafetyAct leaves me no option at this time but to restrict access to the UK.
This also applies to Sinful Sunday, so if you are in the UK, you will need a VPN to see it.
I had planned to just wait and see, but with Ofcom saying there will be no warnings if they find your site, they will issue a fine that plan is out the window

@nprofile…x759 Hi Neil
A friend of mine is worried about her sex blog. Could I be cheeky and ask if you would take a quick look and tell me if you think it is exempt or not?
