Gotta say, the new Caltrain is pretty great. It really does win out often when thinking about driving somewhere, and considering "or I could take the train". As I understand, running trains every half-hour at a minimum is a low bar by some standards, but it is a game-changer relative to what it was before.

@nprofile…48vs I've seen this and it's aggravating. I've also found it hard to tell these days if a car has its high-beams on, or if it's just the normal headlights and it's the way the car was designed.
I had an old BMW with headlights that shined in a hockey stick shaped pattern, where light was cast low in front of the car, but higher to the side of the car where signs would be. These days, I think car manufacturers have figured out that people don't buy a car based on how safe or comfortable *others* are when it is on the road.

@nprofile…wjfe oh joy, the trade wars are starting already. Funny how the Colombian president is only demanded that migrants be treated with dignity while being returned to his country, and even that is too much of an ask for Trump.

I hiked the Mastodon Peak trail in Joshua Tree National Park, and it seems appropriate to post a photo on Mastodon.

I made a doodle about the VP debate.
Most telling moment in my opinion:
Walz: "Did he [Trump] lose the 2020 election?"
Vance: "Tim, I'm focused on the future..."
Walz: "That is a very damning non-answer"
