Watching #WhereEaglesDare on #BBC4, a great but silly film. I do have the #DVD, but it's still worth watching live when there is nothing else on TV. At the moment everything is blowing up...!

Some bloke in a monster #SUV turned right, crossing the cycle lane without looking or signalling, and wouldn't have even noticed if he'd hit someone as he was so oblivious.
I hate the town's cycle lanes, they only exist to get bikes off the roads, so SUVs have more space, and now it's generally more dangerous than cycling on the roads used to be.

I had to fiddle with the hue setting as #rawtherapee doesn't processes #Canon RAW images properly turning deep blue to violet. I think this is a bit better.

Took the hybrid #bike this morning instead of my road bike as it has disc brakes rather than rim brakes which are better with the fine grit and wet conditions. The wider softer tyres are also better in the wet and on the crappy local roads.
It didn't rain though and the roads were dry, so I could have taken my road bike.
It was blooming windy though, I had a cross-wind or head-wind almost all the time - so combined with the hybrid knocked 2 km/h of my average speed.

Cool wet and grey here in #Bretagne this morning.
It was dark and damp on my bike ride, it rained when I wanted to take the dog for a walk and now it's wet and windy while I work. Unlike the poor masons labouring on our kitchen wall at least I'm inside...
Though if something goes really wrong I could end up on the outside...

Got my first obviously #AISlop spam email today. Various words taken from my web sites including words of images and the domain names of the servers, resulting in utter gibberish.
My external systems have mythical beasts names, so the AI generated slop that's most absurd. I don't train, draw, work with or have any other relationships with griffons, it's just a machine name...

Cycled around Cork today, which wasn't fun. Then took the train to Killarney, which also wasn't fun, then cycled to our B&B, which also wasn't exactly fun either.
Cycling provision is generally poor to awful and the traffic is heavy. Hoping tomorrow will have fewer cars.

Work #Windows11 box just spent quarter of an hour patching, rebooting and encountering fatal errors. Don't you love high quality commercial software?
I know #AI is good at finding bugs, even if it can't fix them yet and everyone is impacted, #Debian #GNULinux too.
It's just that Windows seems so lame compared with other cheaper systems...

@nprofile…x7ye excluding cast off work kit, nothing I have is younger than 10 years old and most of it is quite capable of running KDE on Debian.
When Forky comes out my Nvidia card will fall off support, but I can always find a more recent but still lowish end supported on second hand.
I'm given kit that runs like treacle on a cold day running Windows and find most Linux distros bring it back to life, though HW upgrades help.

@nprofile…udtr France conveniently has its own third world countries that are part of France, perfect for running scams already. The law would apply there, though it may be tedious to apply, but I don't think France can block a company in a foreign country from cold calling, though it may be possible to make it illegal for a French company to hire a foreign one to do the dirty work...
I know most people, me included, never answer unknown numbers because of cold calls.

@nprofile…063n given how little exercise most adults get and how awful the British diet has been allowed to slip to, combined with lackluster wage growth and inflation I'm amazed it's only as modest as they say...
Mind you, falling life span should make pensions cheaper and annuity rates better...

Installed #Debian 13.3 on a pair of PCs at IDEAL this morning.
https://www.ideal35.fr/
The first PC was an old all-in-one #Apple Mac, the second was an older Asus sever.
The Mac worked okay, but the bug in the installer failed to install the apt sources.
On the Asus server, it created the RAID1 configuration and installed on the array, but then GRUB refused point blank to install on either physical disk, so it won't boot - and I ran out of time to fix that.

Today I completed the #Commodore64 version of Bruce Lee after 40 odd years of first playing the game. Turns out that I had almost beaten the game in the past but the bug in the tape version I had, caused it to crash on me which is probably why I needed a cracked copy with the bug removed to actually beat the game - plus infinite lives...
