I'd rather send it to a non-tankie platform. I regret my previous financial contributions.

No word on whether they actually had the means to carry out the plan they posted to social media.
I hope they learn not to be idiots and get released quickly.

Good. They should have just done this in the first place. Fort Liberty is dumb, might as well have named it Fort Kickass. Yes, I know the services couldn't agree on a name and that's why it got Liberty, but it shouldn't have been *that* hard to agree on another guy named Bragg. Like how Washington renamed King County for MLK instead of whatever racist it was before.

It's not cheaper to execute people, either. Even if convicted, they still get their appeals, which costs court and lawyer time and money, plus the imprisonment. Even if they exhaust their appeals, they sit on death row until the state actually manages to execute them, which is getting more difficult due to lack of executioners and method of execution materials (e.g. the lethal injection items).

Huh, I guess he did. I did a brief search before writing that comment, and the articles with the least speculation didn't mention the suppressor.
But like I said, I doubt the use of a suppressor is going to enable more crimes, nor make or break solving a case. "I would love to go shoot someone, but it's just too dang *loud*" doesn't seem realistic.

None of the recent incidents involved suppressors, and I see no reason more availability would have made a difference. You're not going to get away with it in any case.

Good! In civilized countries, using a suppressor is often *mandatory*. There's no good reason to restrict them as much as we do in the US. It's not like people are going to start running around committing assassinations with silent guns, because as noted, they're still not silent, and the existing noise doesn't stop people from committing gun violence (and people committing gun crimes probably aren't respecting gun law anyway).

Tape. Amazon glacier if you're okay with that.
And regular test restores. An untested backup is not a backup.
But when considering what I need to back up, I usually overestimate how much I or other people will care if it's lost. Family photos are great, but what are the odds of someone saying "damn I wish we still had two dozen photos of that one barbecue?*

All valid concerns.

I'm guessing it's in the output handler, not the UI exactly. I don't think you can edit models like that, and the fact that it knows about it at all means they didn't whitewash the training data set. But my knowledge is limited. In their place, I would probably have included "don't talk about tiananmen square" in the initialization rules. But failing that, I would have added something in the output processor to check for forbidden knowledge and throw an exception.
Still, it's strange that it got the words out before dying.

Literally on the product page, first result when I googled the model number:
>DS1821+ comes equipped with 8 bays and can scale up to 18 bays with 2 DX517 expansion units as your data needs grow.
https://www.synology.com/en-us/products/DS1821+
Honest question: did you do any investigation on your own, or post here first?
