I am really excited about Derelikt. I think it's the best looking example about maintaining the essential qualities of the original look (it's based on Alien: Resurrection, the best looking 3D game on the PS1) and subtly touches it up with modern tools to make those qualities shine even more.

Melitopol is the one huge weak point in the entire system. If the troops in Kherson and Crimea can be cut of from the train line and highway, everything west of it is on immediate life support. (Or rather, off it.)
But I'm not sure what that will mean for the Donbas. I don't see the Russian just retreating back behind the border, and with a massively shortened front, they might be much more able to hold it for a long time.

I think the Ukrainians have the patience and discipline not to charge ahead blindly at every breakthrough and end up in the same position as the initial Russian invasion force, with unsecured flanks and no real supply lines.

But the pace at which that happens is impossible to predict.

Attempts at replicating the paint jobs on ancient marble statues always looking pretty crap might be because the traces of pigments that can be recovered from the surface of authentic statues are only from the very first coat of paint.
Given that we have plenty of mosaics, and actual paintings on wood from Roman-period Egypt that have a lot of detail and shading, it seems almost certain that the final paint job on the statues would have been much more elaborate as well.

I mean, sure, you can seal the entrances of the mine.
But like ice, salt under pressure will slowly flow, and all the tunnels will eventually get squeezed shut. Which also sounds great to seal up the buried waste.
But this basically is a very slow collapse of the mine. And as everyone living in areas of heavy mining knows, when the mine collapses, the ground above will settle as well. And how watertight will the rock be then?

Salt mines were picked for nuclear storage because the assumption was that if the salt wasn't dissolved by water for millions of years, then the whole area must be waterproof.
And they were. Before people dug giant holes into it.

It's not 100% interchangeable, but neither is American equipment.
And NATO standards have been a thing for over half a century.
