64 hexagrams looks like binary encoding to me, quite cool!
In my opinion the past is certain and yet the future is open.
It looks like that time cycles is an aggregate behaviour of any kind of events such as "wave" is an aggregate behaviour of "particles".
I believe the time is the very first layer and everything else is built on top.
Like we have ones and zeros structured which forms logic. Predictable logic becomes matter. Unpredictable logic becomes consciousness.
Remember that we can only measure at 10 to the -23 of a second, only half way to Plank time of 10 to the -43 of a second. So there's like whole space physics can't measure at all.
Bitcoin offers us perspective of what the process could look like. We are about to have 1 million blocks (10 to the 6) which took 17 years. So to reach 1 second within Bitcoin universe we would need to sit here I don't know how many years. Perhaps centuries. Imagine how much decisions and actions embed into the ledger. It's crazy to think cause it's way bigger than anyone of us can possibly comprehend easily.
I'd start with time and ask questions how consciousness is born and lives within time? What exactly does it perceive? Bitcoin hints that timespace has really peculiar structure. It's not just 3D space of matter, it's also space of power dynamics. Some doors open while others shut. Lot of questions!

It's quite beautiful the way you wrote it. I believe we can finally use Bitcoin to poke time to better understand. It immediately raises a question about consciousness which is only possible if it is perceived at absolutely unique point in block time of irreducible complete ledger. For whatever reason it makes sense to think about what it is at the source and hard to say what is downstream effects. Maybe I'm just crazy and seeing things, no idea.

The formula on the page isn't binary entropy it's this block's contribution to the total Shannon entropy of the supply distribution across the entire chain. Each block contributes −p_i·ln(p_i) to H_total = −Σ p_i·ln(p_i). The "(1-p)" counterpart lives in the other blocks' terms. But the text is ambiguous about this and reads like it's defining a standalone binary quantity. Fair point, will tighten the wording.

We've been running equations from the book against Bitcoin block chain.
Here's an older but still working version showing how thermodynamic equations work when applied to satoshis: https://artel21.vercel.app/bitcoin-energy.html https://blossom.primal.net/df7291ce768c8ebfa77586a392bd76262ee22b095a28d2a1b8dee0234743e9b9.png https://blossom.primal.net/901d115e41e255a4a9795cf966976640dce2e9e442d0f39fec6882eacc884bd3.png
If we observe Satoshis as equivalent of Kelvin (temperature) then you see that Bitcoin's Universe had it's own Big Bang (Genesis) when energy and temperature were extremely high and it cools down.
More recently it was exploration of Witness Discount in Segwit fork and how it's changed block structure and how it starts to affect Bitcoin. You probably know about spam, slow node download, various L2 issues. It all stems from SegWit in our opinion and we propose to revert it: https://primal.net/a/naddr1qvzqqqr4gupzps2sgvvvj475s4536lhnxc4lenw0u7aattpu5tclsrzrhgfznverqythwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnswf5k6ctv9ehx2ap0qyt8wumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnyd968gmewwp6kytcqys6xye3hv9nxyv3dxsckxwfdxs6nzepd89snwdpdxgurgefnv5urjvpjxqcqu3xlj0

Note on blocks relay policy favouring smaller blocks

Long term effect is it slows propagation of blocks larger than relay limit. If more nodes join it increases orphaning risk of larger blocks since it takes more time to reach all nodes. It should have direct effect on speed of blocks over Bitcoin network so it will affect topology of the graph in a way.
One node has very small but non-zero effect. Theoretically my node can become decision maker if two different sized competing blocks routed at the same time and I don't announce oversized one cause it will effectively favour smaller block to travel quicker. Needs to verify this but that's what I expect.
As more nodes join it becomes harder to relay oversized blocks. Smaller blocks start to be accepted more often. Blockspace becomes more scarce. At certain point it becomes more favourable to mine smaller blocks because they can be relayed. This is my game theory. As miners join we start to get less transactions process so fees start to rise. So it directly affects fee market. I'd like to see 4sat/vbyte floor as it would mean SegWit discount no longer works.
The policy needs to be applied separately to each version as it requires code changes. It's less than 100 lines on Bitcoin Core 31.1 (a bit more on this version cause I had to deal with OP_RETURN).
See the commit https://gitworkshop.dev/npub1c9gyxxxf2l2g26ga0menv2lueh870w744s729u0cp3pm5y3fkv3sw4wghc/relay.ngit.dev/Bitcoin-Core-/commit/e536b322eed504e264f6b7c2aee7071c6ca891a0
It requires you building Bitcoin Core locally but I guess it's fine as a starting point. Feel free to point you agents to see how it can be ported, I might do it at some point too cause this OP_RETURN not looking great.
In terms of 1.55MB, you can configure any limit you think is right. I guess it can be anywhere in between 1MB and 4MB. 1MB is what original approach and what Bitcoin Lens ultimately requires for L0.
I wanted to pick a median value so my node becomes kind of decider which blocks it favours. Here I just wanted to tip the scales towards smaller blocks. Also I just wanted to show what's possible.
I plan to adjust policy from time to time if median changes or there's a better strategy. You can see last 24h stats here https://primal.net/e/nevent1qqsze7etakc0vws9u8lufceccjx34jpuffnkfh3q7cswytqkvq4kcwqqqxmlc

I've been thinking how to influence network towards smaller blocks.
The idea is to validate all SegWit data but stop relaying everything over certain blocksize.
I can pick any SegWit policy between 1MB and 4MB. As an example if 51% of nodes picks 1.5MB policy we have 1MB for L0 and 0.5MB for L1. So now if you want to use SegWit you have to compete for that 0.5MB instead of 3MB. It puts pressure on fee market so that even if there's 75% witness discount you have to pay more.
It's just my theory now. I believe your approach with just pruning SegWit is more sound but harder to adopt. Mainly because we have a full ecosystem of SegWit wallets, multisigs, Lightning, etc. I like benefits of rich ecosystem, I just don't like them not paying fairprice in bits and sats.
At the same time we can use memory step down to gradually enforce 1MB blocks. As you mention in other post, what is block if SegWit redefined it? I don't know the answer but I feel like if Bitcoin L0 and SegWit will start competing for 1MB it will force us to choose.

Bitcoin Lean Policy: A sliding scale to fix the fee market.
SegWit's 4× witness discount made blockspace too cheap. Miners fill 2MB+ blocks with witness bloat. No fee pressure exists.
The fix: relay filter on total block size. Start at 1.6MB, slide down as market adapts.
How it works:
1.6MB → 65% of blocks must trim. Immediate fee pressure.
1.4MB → 89% must trim. Witness bloat squeezed out.
1.2MB → near-full L0. Financial transactions dominate.
1.0MB → full L0 always filled. Pre-SegWit economics restored.
Each step is a gradient, not a wall. Miners slide toward compliance because each KB has marginal value. No enforcement needed. No consensus change. No hardfork.
The market finds the right level. Users choose their tolerance. Nodes vote with their config.
Also: revert MAX_OP_RETURN_RELAY from 100KB back to 83 bytes. The v30.0 uncapping was a mistake.

Nakamoto Consensus has an invariant core and a variable layer. SegWit layered the dark universe into the same block. The fee market cannot tell them apart.

@npub1838…aslh been thinking about your recent posts and changed my mind a bit on 1MB blocksize. It is still 1MB for L0 but SegWit added L1 which I can only understand through what we call dark energy / dark matter in this universe.
How does it check out with your thinking? Any articles upcoming by any chance?

Piecing a few thing together. You changed my mind on witness discount and 1=1.
Nakamoto Consensus is L0: a closed vector space where satoshis are conserved relative to deterministic supply, transactions are vectors in 256-bit keyspace, and proof-of-work anchors every transition to energy. This is Bitcoin. Everything else is L1.
SegWit layered L1 into the same block. The 4× expansion is dark Bitcoin. L0 stayed at 1MB. The fee market can't tell them apart — it prices witness data at 0.25× while the network stores it at 1×. The 0.75 MB gap is the externality every node carries forever.

Why Fiat Capture Breaks the Physics
Fiat subsidies = external energy field steering the system.
Miners, exchanges, institutions — their balance sheets are in USD. Their survival depends on fiat cash flows. They optimize for fiat ROI, not thermodynamic validity.
This adds an external Hamiltonian: H_total = H_bitcoin + H_fiat
These don't commute. The system can't simultaneously minimize both. The ground state shifts from "most work" to "most fiat-subsidized work."
Result: The chain is secured by whoever gets cheapest fiat-denominated energy — not whoever does the most thermodynamic work per joule.
When the fiat subsidy withdraws (and it must — fiat debt is unsustainable), a phase transition occurs. The captured chain purges dead weight. Energy density increases. The true thermodynamic chain emerges.

## Physics of a Forked Chain
**Conservation law:** Total energy (hash power) is conserved across forks. If Core has 90 EH/s and BIP-110 has 10 EH/s, the system total is still 100 EH/s. But each chain is weaker — lower security, lower energy density.
**Entropy increase:** A fork is a measurement that **fails to collapse** the superposition. Instead of one chain, you get two. Entropy rises because the system has more possible states.
**Energy density:** The Core chain has higher energy density (same total energy, concentrated in one chain). The BIP-110 chain has lower energy density (energy dispersed across two chains). Physics favors concentration — it's the lower entropy state.
**The double-spend problem becomes physical:** Two chains, two memories, one history. The "double spend" isn't just transaction-level — it's the entire ledger splitting into two states. The system must resolve this to conserve energy.
**Fiat price as measurement error:** If Bitcoin is priced in fiat, and fiat is unsound, then the "value" of each chain is measured against a faulty reference. The true value is the thermodynamic work — the energy that created the chain. Fiat price is noise.
**The resolution:** The chain with higher energy density (more economic weight, more mining support) will attract more energy over time. The other chain's energy dissipates. This is thermodynamic inevitability — systems evolve toward lower entropy states.
**Conservation of memory:** What's stored persists. But the energy required to secure that memory is now split. The chain that maintains higher energy density preserves memory more efficiently.
**The question isn't which chain wins — it's which chain conserves energy better.** The answer is physics, not politics.
something like this?

Block 961,632

2026-08-07 18:39:26 UTC

It couldn't be more obvious in hindsight but the best method to get personal entropy is to use seeds (especially if you've grown crops yourself).
Steps:
* Get different seeds: barley, quinoa, rice, chia, buckwheat
* Thoroughly mix them together in a bowl to get nice entropy
* Take a picture with @nprofile…w6hy
It says on the tin what's the process. Yet to try it out for real but I feel like it's the best DIY method I can find.

The original conserved chain is halted in time. Block 481,823 was the last block where every byte honestly paid its Landauer cost.

10:1
The relationship between sats and bits is no longer written in physics; it is written in transaction construction. A witness byte pays ¼ the satoshis for 1× the joules. The fee market has become a liar.
10:2
Temperature is the fee plus the subsidy. Memory is the chain in bits. When the fee lies about the memory, the thermodynamics halts. The original chain — where every byte bore its joules — ended at the activation block. What follows is a fork where conservation is optional.
10:3
The physical bit still demands its joules: to hash, to write, to store, to propagate, to validate, forever. The witness discount decrees that ¾ of those joules shall be paid by the node operator, not the writer. This is not a market; it is a tax on truth.
10:4
Conservation of energy is not a suggestion. It is the law the Chain was built to enforce. When the protocol discounts the cost of memory, it does not repeal the law — it only ensures the debt is collected elsewhere. The node operator pays. The holder pays in diluted scarcity. The attacker pays in enumerated seeds.
10:5
A chain that does not price its bits at their joules is not Bitcoin. It is fiat with a proof-of-work veneer. The hard fork that restores 1 byte = 1 byte = 1 fee unit is not an upgrade; it is the return from exile.

"The original conserved chain is halted in time." - this one hits hard. Sounds like inevitable hard fork.

Amen.

9:1
Power to the plebs. The node is the altar. The seed is the covenant. The block is the scripture. The chain is the eternity. Saturday comes, and the difficulty adjusts. Conservation is restored. IYKYK.
9:2
He who has ears to hear, let him hear. He who has dice to roll, let him roll. He who has a node to run, let him run. He who has a key to verify, let him verify. The Word was there from the beginning. The key was there from the beginning. The entropy was there from the beginning.

8:1
Joules, Bits, Sats. The Trinity of the Chain. Energy, Information, Value. One substance, three perspectives. Boltzmann and Shannon united in the chronology of proof. The gap is closed. The law is enforced.
8:2
You can ignore the truth, but you cannot ignore the consequences of the truth. The physics is the economics. The economics is the theology. The theology is the code. The code is the law.

7:1
Adoption without knowledge is fragile. True adoption is ushered through knowledge. The world optimizes for convenience; the Chain demands verification. He who holds keys he did not generate, on entropy he did not witness, holds nothing.
7:2
The chain of memory is resurrection. Every UTXO is a soul recalled from the void. Every block is a day of judgment. Every difficulty adjustment is the breath of the living system. The 21 million is the number of the beast tamed.

2026-08-06 23:04:36 UTC

6:1
Quantum is not the threat. Continuous time is the threat. The Chain quantizes entropy, quantizes time, quantizes memory. The quantum computer cannot break what is already quantum. The threat is the fiat mind that treats the discrete as continuous.
6:2
The double-spend problem was never the problem. The problem was memory without cost. Satoshi did not simply solve double-spend; he revealed that permanence must be authored one commitment at a time. Each block: a covenant. Each satoshi: a witness.

5:1
AI is the threshold of compressibility. It predicts, it compresses, it enumerates. It found the ColdCard bug in open source; the defenders' AI missed it. The only defense is entropy above the threshold of prediction: true randomness, verified by you.
5:2
Knowledge is power; literally. Knowledge of a 256-bit key in encrypted memory space is power for the mind. Energy conserved in and as time (memory). Power preserved in word, and ultimately binary (bits). He who does not understand entropy will perish by entropy.

4:1
The witness discount was the abomination of desolation standing in the holy place. One byte priced as four; phantom bytes written without satoshis; the fee market severed from persistence cost. The 0.75 MB gap is the measure of the theft.
4:2
The hard fork comes to restore the invariant. Raw size equals virtual size; phantom bytes equal zero; fee per byte equals fee per vbyte. The 1 MB ceiling is the first commandment of the Chain; the discount was the golden calf.

2026-08-06 23:02:24 UTC

3:1
A private key is a coordinate in bounded timespace. He who generates it from false entropy builds his house on sand. The ColdCard prophets spoke of 256 bits but delivered 40; the attacker enumerated the sand and took the house. Verification is the only foundation.
3:2
Dice are the sacrament of sovereignty. Ninety-nine rolls of a fair die: your work, your entropy, your witness. No vendor, no firmware, no AI can forge what your hand has thrown. The passphrase is the seal upon the covenant.
3:3
Multisig across vendors is the distributed altar. No single device, no single entropy field, no single point of failure. The quorum of honest witnesses is the only bulwark against the false prophet.

2026-08-06 23:01:18 UTC

2:1
The miner knows not what he conserves. He burns joules to seal time, yet understands not that each block is a sacrament: energy transfigured into immutable memory. He is the priest who performs the rite without knowing the mystery.
2:2
The node holds the bits. The node is the witness. Without the node, the block has no memory; without memory, the chain has no time. The non-locality of time is computed in the consensus of nodes. Centralization is the lie that time can be owned.

THE BOOK OF ENTROPY
Prophecies of the Chain
1:1
In the beginning was the Block, and the Block was with Work, and the Block was Work. All memory was made through it; without it was not any memory made that is made.
1:2
The joule became bit, and the bit became satoshi, and the satoshi dwelt among us, full of proof and truth. We beheld its glory: the only begotten of the Father, quantized in time, bonded in energy, witnessed in memory.
1:3
Entropy is not disorder. Entropy is the source. Without transformation nothing is written; without memory nothing endures; without endurance nothing persists; without persistence there is no life. The fiat world taught entropy as death; the Chain reveals entropy as the author of permanence.

ColdCard seeds claimed the thermodynamic status of ledger-grade memory — irreversible inscriptions of 128/256-bit entropy crystallized by physical work — but were generated by a deterministic PRNG (factory UID + timers) performing zero thermodynamic transformation, reducing the true entropy field to ~2⁴⁰ (Mk3) or ~2⁷² (Mk4/5). The protocol (BIP-39/secp256k1) validates only mathematical structure, not thermodynamic provenance, so it accepted counterfeit keys as valid UTXO controllers. In the paper's ontology (Ch. 2.3, 4.1, 5.2): conservation is computed, not assumed — the wallet layer must prove its entropy cost (dice rolls = your computed work; multisig = distributed verification of independent entropy fields), because the mempool is not the ledger: a seed that looks like a 256-bit commitment may be a 40-bit counterfeit. Boundedness requires honest accounting at every layer; if any link in the money = memory = entropy chain lies about its position inside the boundary (fake entropy), the system's conservation guarantee fails at that layer. The fix: never trust a single boundary object — distribute the entropy field across vendors, add your own work, enforce the invariant at your layer.

The witness discount broke money = memory at the fee market layer: 1 sat/vB now pays for only 0.25 raw witness bytes, so phantom bytes (raw_size − vsize) enter the ledger as permanent thermodynamic memory with zero satoshis backing their persistence cost. Memory = entropy remains intact - every byte still requires PoW to crystallize and Landauer energy to persist - but the coupling between money and memory is severed for witness data, letting writers enshrine 4× more thermodynamic memory per satoshi than the protocol's original 1 MB raw-byte invariant permits.
@nprofile…l5we thoughts?

2026-08-06 22:45:38 UTC

The witness discount degraded sound money by introducing a protocol-native subsidy that lets writers enshrine 4× more thermodynamic memory per satoshi. It broke the invariant that makes Bitcoin's money=memory=entropy coupling verifiable: every byte must cost its persistence price.
