Just a reminder:
Being apolitical means that you are neutral and like Desmond Tutu said: "If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor". Conclusion: Don't be #apolitical or else you are complicit.

Want words do matter.

Global Project Against Hate and Extremism: *State Department Plans $5 Million Push for ‘Western Civilizational Heritage’ in Europe*
"The Trump administration has unveiled guidelines for a nearly $5 million program for MAGA-aligned organizations in Europe. Under the banner of defending free speech and human rights, the U.S. State Department plans to fund two or three recipients to promote anti-immigrant narratives, Christian nationalist rhetoric, and the defense of “Western civilizational heritage” across the continent. The beneficiaries have not yet been announced, but German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has already described the initiative as possibly leading to interference in Germany’s elections. …"

Hopefully the Kurds will not accept US help. The Kurds have been betrayed many times by the west, more recently the US. Plus, they will be complicit in this dangerous illegal war. Of course there is not only a difference between political groups in the various parts of Kurdistan, but also between the different parties in East-Kurdistan. Reuters doesn't name those, so therefore it's a very vague report.
Reuters: *U.S., Kurds discuss potential Iran military operation, sources say*
" Iranian Kurdish militias have consulted with the United States in recent days about whether, and how, to attack Iran's security forces in the western part of the country, according to three sources with knowledge of the matter.
The Iranian Kurdish coalition of groups based on the ‌Iran-Iraq border in the semiautonomous region of Iraqi Kurdistan has been training to mount such an attack in hopes of weakening the country's military, as the United States and Israel pound Iranian targets with bombs and missiles. …"

"Solidarity with Chris Smalls
American labor leader kidnapped and brutally assaulted by Zionist forces
Chris was arrested by the Israeli Occupation Forces from the civilian aid ship 'Handala', together with 20 other activists. The ship was on its way to Gaza carrying vital humanitarian aid, in a symbolic effort to break the Zionist blockade and forced starvation of the Palestinian people.
Trade Unionists arrested from civilian aid ship on its way to Gaza:
🇪🇸 Santiago González Vallejo
🇹🇷 Hatem Laouini
🇺🇸 Christian Smalls: founder of Amazon Labour Union, the first trade union to be officially sanctioned to represent Amazon workers in the U.S. In May 2025 Smalls was our guest at the FNV HQ in Utrecht to explain how he achieved this: with unwavering authenticity and the courage to stand up for justice.
Now, Chris needs our help: he is the only one of the 21 arrested activists to have been severely abused by the Zionist police: he was strangled and repeatedly kicked in the face and neck. As the only black prisoner, he is in a very vulnerable position in an apartheid state where holding prisoners without trial and subjection to torture are commonplace. …" [text continues on 3rd & 4th image]

This evening there were sit-ins and demonstrations for #Gaza on almost every Dutch central station. It were the most visited station sit-ins as far as I can remember. This is from #Utrecht CS were I attended. I guess there were almost 1000 people (not a few hundred like the media told us). The front hall was completely full (only a narrow strip, so people could get to their trains and busses). In #Amsterdam CS there were according to the same media 1500 people.
After the sit-in, there was a march through Hoog Catharijne (main mall) and the old city center, ending at the city hall.

Another issue, is that Mastodon is only for 13% translated to #Hindi, 15% to #Tamil, 10% #Punjabi, and 5% to #Marathi. Just to name a few. Of course a lot of people can read English but using Mastodon in their mother tongue is a plus. #India has a large diaspora, so maybe those people can be of use?

Maybe offering cheap/free hosting space outside #India would be an idea, because of the repressive climate under Modi.

I remember mastodon.in, but it doesn't exist anymore. Or maybe I'm confused with another URL. Anyhow, people from India should do this themselves. It would be great if those servers are state, city or language based.

We already knew about the complicity of the Egyptian government, but it's getting more clear now.
MadaMasr: *Cairo authorities detain, deport dozens of foreign nationals entering Egypt for Global March to Gaza*
"Authorities at Cairo Airport have detained and deported tens of people who had flown to Egypt to participate in the Global March to Gaza, a popular, international initiative to travel en masse to Egypt’s border with the Gaza Strip to break Israel’s siege on Palestinians there.
Algerian lawyer Fatiha Rouibi told Mada Masr that Egyptian security forces detained 40 Algerian nationals on Wednesday morning to prevent them from entering Egypt upon their arrival at the airport to participate in the march. The lawyer confirmed on Thursday morning that all of the Algerian nationals had been released and allowed to leave Egypt following 24 hours detention.
Over ten members of a delegation arriving from Morocco, meanwhile, were turned back at the airport, according to a Moroccan activist who requested anonymity.
Another participant confirmed that Egyptian security forces detained and deported several Turkish citizens from outside their Cairo hotel, where they were spotted carrying Palestinian flags. …"

And although I as an anarchist despise cult of personalities, it's also not my job as a non-Kurd to criticize the way Kurds see him. I'm of course not the one who decides about what to do, but I don't trust it at all! Why would #Öcalan ask to dissolve the #PKK? (rhetorical question) Why should Öcalan, the DEM Party or any Kurd trust #Erdogan? (also a rhetorical question) The Turkish state is still targeting #Rojava and Iraqi #Kurdistan. #Kurds in (so called) Turkey are still second-class citizens. People who are celebrating this as some peace victory, are naive and should really know their history. I really do hope there is a good strategy behind this. To be continued.

I accidentality watched the 1993 induction of the Doors in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (:youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rs4Po4YricE). Co-founder of the Doors Ray Manzarek (1939-2013, :wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray_Manzarek) called the Reagan/Bush Sr. administration fascists. I absolutely agree and I'm happy for Ray that he didn’t had to endure the ultra-fascists who are now in office. Overton window in full effect here!
But don't forget that a lot of people (especially men) who were getting high on the Doors in the summer of 1967, voted for #Trump. Probably a lot of them because they were very disappointed about Clinton, Obama and Biden. But that's still not a reason to vote for Trump! Ray turns over in his grave. And Jim as well!

I also found another Israeli venture capitalist that invested in #Bluesky (https://accessipos.com/bluesky-stock-ipo/#Ownership). Stav Erez of Lab/02. She is recommended on LinkedIn by that other Israeli investor, Amir Shevat from Darkmode Ventures (https://www.linkedin.com/in/stav-erez-13b8974b/). Amir Shevat, who's posting without any shame Israeli propaganda on his LinkedIn page (https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7119701140899823617). Propaganda that makes the ridiculous, but still dangerous statement that the IDF is the most humane army in the world. 🙄 Or that Israel is just a decent country, so don't complain folks. 🤷🏻‍♀️ 😭
This is were Bluesky is doing business with. Not that all the other venture capitalists or regular investors are any good. It's all evil capitalism in overdrive. Or business as usual.

Looking to all those names, one I don't understand and that is Cory Doctorow. But let's ask him. @npub1fdr…lvhs why did you after your clear support for the fediverse vs Bluesky choose to put your name on this list? Check Aral's post. It's thin air from Silicon Valley asking for donations without any believable coal. Don't believe the hype! All corporate nothingness.

DEATH TO AI!

2024-12-26 18:09:06 UTC

This was really over the top. In a good way! Not for everyone, because so much blood and other horror shit. OMG! 😱 And I'm even not that of a #horror fan at all. 🤷🏻‍♀️
That said, I think it's a very successful (feminist) commentary of the #entertainment industry, and #capitalism and Western #society in general. Suburb acting of Demi Moore! 🙌🏻
But be advised to not watch this during dinner. 😉

Although I shared this important film last year as well, the current developments are forcing me to re-share it. Please watch and learn about why the #Kurds need our support!

As an anarchist and anti-capitalist I'm not that of a fan of Patreon, but I understand that in two days it will also be on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/@fromtheperipherymedia/videos). Maybe an idea to add the podcasts to PeerTube as well.

Looks great at first sight, although I really hate the colour orange. Don't forget that that colour here in the so called Netherlands is affiliated with the monarchy.

For the campists: This doesn't mean #Assad and it's thugs are now the good guys! By far! The only forces you should support are the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) from the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES/Rojava).

While the corporate and state #media were (and are) busy pushing the false frame about what (not) happened in #Amsterdam, copying the Israeli propaganda monster, is in #Colombia the next climate disaster happening! Almost nothing in the Western media about it (at least not here in the so-called Netherlands). Is this the new media policy?

They don't even know how to burn a flag. 🤦🏻‍♀️ BTW: They can burn the flag of the Netherlands. It has my approval. Not because about what not happened in Amsterdam, but because the Netherlands supplies weapons to the Zionist regime (and all earlier Dutch atrocities of course). They should stay away from the Palestinian flag!

It's a new day (CET) so one extra post. Here footage from the Maccabi fans 'singing' the complete 'song' after landing on Ben Gurion airport. Lyrics:
"Ole ole
Ole ole ole
Let the IDF win and fuck the Arabs
Ole ole
Ole ole ole
Why is school out in Gaza? There are no children left there"
This is what is defended by the status quo. Framing into a fake pogrom. Let's not accept this folks!

See this, the IOF aka IDF, dedicates today the bombing of a residential block in Gaza to Maccabi Tel Aviv. Don't tell me anything anymore about mandatory IDF service. If you do this, you are just plain evil and also if you're not saying anything about it. Neutrality is evil!

More comprehensive footage from Embassy of Justice with the following text:
"Chants echo through the streets of Amsterdam, loud, clear, and passionate. And with absolute impunity.
‘Let the IDF win to f*** the Arabs,’ and ‘There are no schools in Gaza because there are no children left,’ as part of a longer song. (If you identify other chants in the reel, DM us)
Now the IDF is sending a rescue team to Amsterdam, so it’s said. One does everything to keep controlling the narrative of being the victims. Will they care more about their hooligans than their hostages, or are the rescue helicopters also a lie?
FIFA, UEFA, Ajax, Ajax players, the mayor, fans, airlines, hotels, restaurants, bars, NS, GVB, and broadcasters all could have stood up for human rights and prevented the drama. But they seem to care more about whatever it is they care about.
This was Amsterdam’s second invitation this year to people committing genocide. Who’s next? Is the King inviting Bibi for Christmas dinner?
For now, olé, olé—Amsterdam’s streets will soon be safe again 🤞🏽"

"… Thursday evening. When everyone stays silent, the media makes no effort to tell the story in the correct order, and the police only protect the perpetrators... it seems that for a group of young people, enough is enough.
The silence broken. A week of silence and inaction. The one-sided approach of politicians, authorities, and the media is once again overwhelming.
The silence broken. The framing screams. The double standard in full daylight.""
