Soil microbes. Meta-thinking. That's it.

Thinking is Earthed
While prepping my bokashi this year and tending to the soil microbiome, I realized this goes way beyond "farming methods" or food choices. And modern science is backing that intuition up.
The soil in conventional farming—doused in chemical fertilizers and pesticides—is a wasteland of collapsed microbial life. Crops grown in it might look fine, but they're starved of the phytochemicals and trace elements plants naturally synthesize to protect themselves.
Microbiome research shows that the ultimate driver of gut diversity comes down to one thing: how many diverse, plant-based nutrients we ingest.
Diverse nutrients from living, breathing soil cultivate a "lush forest" in your gut where thousands of microbial species thrive.
Monotonous food grown in stripped-down soil leaves your gut looking like a desert.
When your gut ecosystem thrives, these microbes break down food to pump out neurotransmitters like short-chain fatty acids and aid serotonin synthesis. That biological signal takes the Vagus Nerve highway straight to the brain.
Destroying the soil ecosystem literally starves our gut, trapping the human brain in a primitive, survival-mode loop. It’s ultimate self-sabotage.
Once you actually grasp the mechanics, it hits you: Produce like this is something you will never, ever find on a supermarket shelf.
Why does everyone in the world have a garden except me?
Honestly, that might be the most urgent question to ask today.
