I need everyone to remember that this happened because of JK Rowling. She threatened the NHS with legal action if they allowed trans women in women's wards and this is what happened.
JK Rowling killed someone.

When feminists die, I always ask my wife "was she one of the good ones?"
And this means, did she support *all* woman? Including lesbians and trans women?
I figure, if she did, then her heart was in the right place. There's always something to criticize, but I want to know they were moving in the right direction, to make the world a better place.
Afaik, she was one of the good ones. But I'm not 100% up on her history, so I hope I'm not wrong here...
Edit: reading up more on her. I'm catching that she was not great with black women's rights. And I don't want to ignore that. So... Acknowledging that here.

Hi! I am likely interested in submitting for this. I see your overall guidelines, but it looks like your website isn't updated for this call for submissions yet. Do you have any length requirements? Or is it just generally "letters" and "long form" and kind of placed appropriately?
Thanks!

Ok, I'm gonna ask a potentially ignorant question, but are *all* vagisil/summer's eve/similar "cleansing" products bad? Or are there specific ones?
Admittedly, I do have a bottle of Summer's Eve in my shower. I use it *rarely* because I normally just run water through my vulva to clean it out, as it's my understanding soaps and stuff generally aren't necessary.
So I guess I'm just curious?

"Hoping she can experience a monogamous relationship with a woman before committing to a man"
That would be homophobia imo. Because the intent is that the same-sex relationship would have a time limit on it and could never be committed, long-term, or serious. Meaning the bi woman doesn't respect gay/bi people or relationships.

"I must admit that I love being the healing dirty talker who helps men with ‘small’ penises regain some confidence, but I wish I’d never had to do it."
Wtf is this article? Lol. It doesn't drive anything home and spends the whole time just saying "uhm maybe don't hate men" without discussing any of the nuance around the concept of what "man hate" actually is, or why people want to decenter men.
There's a conversation to be had here that could be very valuable. This just ain't it.

And this is what they're doing to trans people now. They're committing a bloodless genocide. They're making our lives so stressful, scary, and sad that people are taking their own lives rather than live through it. And they're cheering it on.

To be clear, several states are *actively* working on pushing for gay marriage to be overturned. Many have outlawed speaking about LGBTQ+ issues in front of children already. And things like drag are being banned in states with judges upholding those laws.
This is known as "tyranny of the minority."
As long as the minority controls states and the courts, they'll get away with whatever they want. Even if the general populace disagrees.
It also took nearly 40 years from the first major pushback about gay rights to actually getting gay marriage. Most of us aren't thrilled by the idea of waiting around 40+ years to get our rights back this time.

What you see on social media is NOT what everyone sees.
Just because your friends are talking about a topic that seems REALLY BIG AND IMPORTANT does NOT mean everyone in your real life is aware of it.
I say this because when you talk with the average person (family, friends, coworkers) about politics - they're not even a fraction as aware as you may be.
My wife's cousin was VERY surprised to learn how unsafe TX and FL are for me. And when my wife explained that I would be sent to a men's prison there, she said, "but she had all her surgeries!"
I know this sounds ridiculous to EVERYONE here. But this is an average person.
If you're angry and you're yelling about something online, you need to be screaming about it from the top of your lungs in the real world too. No holds barred. Start making everyone around you uncomfortable until they wake up too.

My coworkers and I actually have these discussions. How more and more work is being piled on us with shorter and shorter deadlines. Leadership throwing things over the wall with no consideration, no evaluation of it. And it doesn't get "slotted" or "prioritized." It's just added to what we're already doing, with no change of timelines.
We don't even celebrate the wins. We just move on to the next thing. And it's never enough. You can work harder than anyone else and it just means they give you more to do. Not a raise though. Just more.
So many of us are just...doing less. Because that way at least they won't give us more.

Also, feel free to message me whenever you need! I'm not a doctor, but I'm happy to answer questions to the best of my ability. Especially if you just need some reassurances.

PLEASE remember, all of this is temporary. You will heal up, it will stop hurting, and it will get easier. 🫂🫂
Did they give you some numbing agent to help with this as well? I think I used one when I first started.
I dealt with a wound separation just out of the hospital, which caused me a ton of pain and I had to stick to a smaller dilator for a bit longer than planned. Things happen - it doesn't mean your healing won't go well.
Be patient with yourself. Be kind to yourself. You're doing just fine, I promise. 💖

Oh yeah, no, I didn't experience it as traumatizing. But I also wouldn't ever want to experience it again. It's just a very weird sensation that's hard to explain. But it'll be over soon enough and you'll feel a huge sense of relief. You'll do great!💖💖

I haven't been on bluesky in several weeks.
The thing is... Bluesky is a LOT of doomerism and amplification of fear. It's also almost *too* leftist for me.
It was helpful to stay informed of things that are happening, but it became overwhelming and had me on edge every day. I know things aren't great. But I need to know the *big* stuff and I need to be able to interact with people about other things outside of that. And I seem to get that here.
But yeah, bluesky censoring people and allowing scraping and all the other stuff... They're an obvious problem. Only better than Twitter bc it's not musk that owns it, and that's not a high bar to clear.

Y'all deserve so much better. Is low contact/no contact an option for you?
My struggle with people like this is they're not just disrespecting me - they'll actually never be capable of seeing me for the person I am.
Yes, it takes time to adjust and figure it all out. But when someone is still deadnaming/misgendering you after 2, 3, 5, whatever years, you're at a point where you know that person just isn't seeing you for the person you actually are. And they're insisting on hanging on to someone you're not. And for me, that hurts. I don't want to be around people who look at me and see a boy - bc that's how we end up with perpetuity of things like "trans women shouldn't be in women's spaces."

So... We handled movies with ratings. And sexual education with ratings and teaching it during certain years. Food with an oversight committee in factories and nutrition labels. And friends are definitely handled by parents right now.
None of this was done by adding government surveillance to our classrooms or homes.
But now you're like "parents are bad at raising kids so the government should do it instead." Should we just start government daycares, force kids into them, and let our politicians care for them instead, since parents can't do it?
Like, yeah, raising kids is hard. It's what you're signing up for when you have them. That's life.

2025-08-03 22:42:09 UTC

You know the crazy part of these laws?
1) Why can't parents just parent their kids? Why is that everyone else's problem?
2) It's not kids putting their ID's into govt databases for this. It's adults.
So it's pretty clear, pretty quickly, this is just government surveillance and control of *adults,* disguised as protection for kids.

I'm trans. I feel the same way. Every day the federal govt makes another statement or action on removing our rights and removing us from society. I've had to stop watching the news entirely because it's too stressful. I'm just waiting for the day they do something that force-outs me at work, or strips me of my career, or kicks me out of my home, or worse.

There's a concept known as "minority stress," which has only ramped up in the last 6-8 months.
Even if you haven't been directly targeted (yet), the simple idea that you MIGHT be puts you in a constant state of fight-or-flight.
The security of living in a country where at least you felt "doing nothing wrong" meant you'd be left alone has gone out the window.
Every day, I feel tired, scared, distracted, uneasy, sad, and uncertain. It's not a good way to live. It damages relationships, careers, friendships, and so much more.
We should be removing these people from office immediately just for putting people in this situation, much less acting on it.

A long, long time ago, in an internet far away....
There was a forum called "loveless"
It was one of the bedrocks of what eventually became inceldom.
But on those forums, there were men and women. I never spent much time there myself, by a friend liked to troll it and would tell me about it.
Most of the people there had similar mindsets to today's incels, but it wasn't a coherent ideology yet. These were people who didn't want to wash, lived in parents basements, didn't work, and were mad they couldn't find love. But they blamed themselves more than others, which is the big shift since then.
But these people actually would go on dates with each other sometimes. And once in a while it worked out!
But most of the time, they came back either feeling their date wasn't "good enough" for them, or even acknowledging that there were very real reasons their date was single (like smelling horrible).
I have to wonder if that forum is archived somewhere...

this is where all my hope lies right now. You can tell these dudes are cracking. Their morale is low. Some part of them is starting to question what they're doing.
Idk what this country will look like in 4 years, or even in 4 months. But these guys will not win. They never have, and they never will.
The second someone dies is the second this whole country erupts, and that'll be it. The military isn't big enough, or even fascist enough, to stop it.
I hate watching all this. It hurts so much. But it's going to be ok. We're stronger than this.

it's funny, you're going through exactly what I did 2 years ago.
I had to have my gall bladder out and then had an orchi just a couple months later.
And my feelings on it were almost exactly the same. With this weird sense of concern I wouldn't digest foods properly in the future. (The good news is, my eating habits haven't changed even the tiniest bit, so 🤷‍♀️)

Drop Harry Potter.

Start getting uncomfortable.
Have uncomfortable conversations.
Use uncomfortable words.
Fascism. Genocide. Nazis.
Say them out loud. Be honest about where we're at.
The time for tone policing is over. It's time to be clear.
Remember: if you want to give posts traction here, you have to retoot them. Starring doesn't do anything.

abortion bans in the US are asking doctors to track period dates and the courts are digging up that information in order to track women for pregnancy data, so they can tell if someone gets an abortion when it's against state law.
