I don't trust him, but now he's the nominee apparent, and I want more than anything to have the highest possible number of Democrats in the Senate.

In my case it isn't "crony capitalism" or "corporatism" I'm against, but the profit motive. What really turned me against capitalism is its competitive nature. I hope to live to see cooperation supplant competition. I won't, of course, but I want to devote my life to that goal.

Is it a turnoffable feature? I think I'll stick with libre office.

Hungary and Turkey were also in attendance. The axis is telegraphing its alignment. The least the Europeans can do is kick Hungary out of the EU. Too many fascist MEPs, I suppose.

I think the tragedy of the commons is probably a phenomenon that actually exists. My usual go-to example is on-the-job training, and 100.0000% of programming jobs requiring programming experience, and employers bellyaching about the broken talent pipeline that they collectively broke. Difference with me is, I think the tragedy of the anticommons is an equally real and consequential phenomenon. Wikipedia's textbook example is the aviation industry during WWI, but I think "intellectual" "property" in general is a particularly tragic anticommons. Another is the sort of opportunity hoarding (or "glass floor") that the respectable classes perpetrate using unpaid internships and the like for professional gatekeeping.

I've never believed in inevitable progress, but please don't ask me to disbelieve in progress itself, including technological progress.

I'm tactically a social democrat, but my dream for humanity is cooperation overtaking competition quite decisively. Almost certain not to happen during my lifetime, but I simply have to believe it can eventually happen, as that belief keeps me going.

I hope capitalism can be rehabilitated, but when one mixes social and entrepreneurship, one tends to get entrepreneurship.

Probably the final nail in the coffin of the blogosphere has been the "newsletters" fad. #medium, #substack, and /p/ are all filtered terms in my Fediverse accounts.

Too many smart people are going to Substack. I want to feed my head, but I can't open that website without feeling somehow used. I hate that blogs have given way to "newsletters."
