We have a new typeface. It is called Chairman, and Nikola Djurek designed it. https://www.typotheque.com/blog/chairman

New: The evolution of Tibetan typography, by Jo De Baerdemaeker.
4,503 words. A 23-minute read. Not for everyone, and we mean that as a compliment. https://www.typotheque.com/articles/the-evolution-of-tibetan-typography

Saturday seems to be a good day to play a font game. Pick which of two fonts feels more expressive — then see how your judgement compares with everyone else's. https://tptq.com/got-character

It is difficult to illustrate the scale of the Zed type system, which has four variable axes and a separate optical version. So we asked @nprofile…wguy to create an interactive visualisation of the design space. Proceed only if you’re prepared to lose track of time.

Massive respect to @nprofile…wguy for tackling the problem of visualising four-dimensional design space.

@nprofile…t9uc @nprofile…kzxh @nprofile…5wkp @nprofile…ws34 Thank you all. Currently I am thinking of Kyocera ECOSYS P4140dn, mainly because it is more compact compared to the HP LaserJet Enterprise 700 M712dn, which has a footprint of a battle-tank. At the same time, I never used Kyocera products, so I hope to hear from someone who has. Keeping OKI C844 on the list too.

@nprofile…pqf8 The diaspora of Armenian printing? Yes, I know. Thought history of printing will be discussed, the focus will be on the contemporary practice.

People perceive thickness of letters very individually, and that’s why we are conducting Font Weight Survey to understand the regional preferences of font weight. Could we ask you for 10 min of your time? The findings will be published publicly once we have some results.

After our first successful crowdfunder to develop Cherokee fonts, we are now launching another crowdfunding campaign this time to publish a book on Armenian type. Help us publish a book through community effort.

Terrassa Display and Gradient both contain five variable axes. We considered providing traditional static fonts as well, but the five axes would produce over 10,000 variations, which would overwhelm your font menu. Instead, we deliver Terrassa Display and Terrassa Gradient as variable fonts, allowing you to adjust the sliders rather than scrolling endlessly. https://www.typotheque.com/fonts/terrassa

Our newest addition to the collection, Terrassa, is inspired by the architectural lettering found in technical drawings and blueprints. Terrassa translates the logic of geometry into a living typographic system. Read more at https://www.typotheque.com/blog/terrassa

Together with Heiltsuk Language Revitalization Communications we worked on completing the digital support for the Heiltsuk language. We added the two missing characters into the Unicode Standard, an important step for language reclamation and sovereignty for the Heiltsuk Nation and language. Anyone has contacts with the Taznatit and Tagargrent language speakers of Algeria? We have a simple orthography question, and any help would be much appreciated.

I remember seeing once an online archive of newspaper front pages from around the world. Anyone knows where to find them for specific dates? I now find only today's first page, no archive.
