Migrating servers earlier this week, I found a bunch of old teaser and announcement websites we made for Build, uh, 13+ years ago, then chasing down some missing assets on the Wayback Machine I found a couple more, and well, here we are: https://buildconf.com

@nprofile…cqgf Thanks Jason, that’s high praise coming from you! 💛

As someone who only knows how to work really very hard on things, let me tell you, no joke, I worked harder on this than anything I've ever worked on before, including any previous year of the festival. Letting myself feel relieved and proud today 💛

Am I digging through all these old projects because I'm finally building a Website? you better believe it!

@nprofile…lel8 Okay but are you really doing it if you’re not also making a 45 minute YouTube video meticulously documenting it for me to watch??

Really glad we traded support tickets and documentation and knowledgebases for instead joining a Discord where the one extremely stressed out libertarian developer with the anime avatar who’s been maintaining the project single-handedly can ignore my question and tell me to fuck off

@nprofile…z59l Really love that you do these and felt I should say so! Prompted me to read @nprofile…wgw9's piece on Gotham with my morning coffee, no one does a deep dive like this quite like Doug! Loved it!

It's been just over 10 years since I started my studio Regular, which I figured is as a good time as any to finally pull together an actual website: https://regular.events

We asked 1,000+ attendees to mask indoors this weekend, and everyone just did. I didn’t have to stop and remind a single person the entire 3 days.
There were definitely gaps in the policy, the risk wasn’t reduced to zero, but if anyone is wondering if it’s possible for events and large gatherings to make reasonable accommodations to reduce the risk of spreading COVID, it absolutely is, we proved it, and your event should be doing it too.

Chloe will have been gone 10 years tomorrow. I told myself for years that I’d have something figured out by then, something written about it all, something to finally offer in response. No. I don’t. It’s still just grief. I was never able to turn it into anything.
