Vel har danskebåten terminalen sin der,

Lots. Online there’s https://www.mastoreader.io, https://www.unroll.now, etc. Search for”unroll mastodon” for more options.
If you use Emacs, simply use mastodon.el. (And my mytoots.el for your own archive.)

«– Vi vet at forekomsten av olje og gass i Norge kommer til å gå ned. Vi må se på hvordan vi utvikler denne sektoren videre og ikke avvikler, sier statsministeren til NRK.»
Tja, hvis vi avviklet uthentingen av denne ikke-fornybare ressursen, ville det vel være en temmelig bankers måte å stanse nedgangen i forekomsten på? :blobthinking:

After Jean Valjean’s 19 years in prison, Edmond Dantès’ 14 years in the dungeon of the Chateau d’If, and Henri “Papillon” Charrière’s 14 years in and out of penal colonies, Sarkozy’s book about his 20 days of suffering will prove a gripping addition to a French genre

"Editor bots thinking every parenthesis with a year in it is a citation" looks set to become the "Excel thinking everything is a date" of the academic publishing industry.
Parody example, but close:
Please provide full bibliographic details for these cited works in the reference list (Austerlitz 1805; Trafalgar 1805; Borodino 1812; Waterloo 1815). Otherwise the citations will be removed.

Not too proud to nostalgia trip, I meant. Not ashamed of the music or (puerile politics aside) the band.
They’re a Missouri band that’s mostly world famous in Norway, but Stephen King was a fan. I think he quoted the entire lyrics of ‘Drinking on the job’ in The Tommyknockers.
The ‘higher than the moon’ reference was to the song ‘Information’. Both are from the fun eponymous debut album.

There’s a thought. But no, Rainmakers. (Yes, an ‘80s nostalgia trip. I’m not proud.)

Close, but no ‘shroom: mainly about drinkin’ on the job and gettin’ higher than the moon, at the moment.

Putin says peace talks must address the root causes of the war. Fine.
The root cause of the war is Russia's unprovoked neo-imperialist aggression against #Ukraine under war criminal Putin's murderous authoritarian far-right regime. Address that.

On second thought, though, this time I think the system was probably okay, but the messaging was confusing. (She thought she had to /know/ her assigned password, when she was actually meant to /reset/ it. Not going to find out, because the editor already told her to just e-mail it ...)

Funny. I was reading an Economist brief on how cutting-edge Chinese #LLM developers are far more open-source and transparent than Western competitors like #OpenAI, despite working in a one-party dictatorship. But, they note, ask #DeepSeek about Taiwan, and it will quickly catch itself and change the topic.
Score one for capitalist #freedom after all? Well, then there's M$ #CoPilot going into a Victorian swoon at any mention of #gender, sex, etc...:

The web page you link to lost me at Myth #1: It attacks a strawman argument (“zero-emission”) and fails to cite any credible source for its claim that nuclear has the highest life-cycle emissions after coal and natural gas, a claim contradicted by the IPCC and UNECE reviews cited in this Wikipedia article, which show nuclear as more low-carbon than several forms of renewable energy (all of which, to be sure, are way better than fossil fuels).

Russia did not nuke Ukraine this morning, and I cannot stress how much I would like news outlets to *lead* with this when they report the alleged ICBM attack on Dnipro.
Having grown up with Tom Lehrer's memorable advice "Just sing out a Te Deum / when you see that ICBM," I cope badly with headlines about the bloody things while swallowing coffee.
With that off my chest: Keep calm, carry on, #StandWithUkraine, and call the bluff on Putin's nuclear blackmail.

- ol-toot.el: An Org-mode "toot" link type for Mastodon posts that works with mastodon.el

I won’t tell you any of that because none of it’s true, but
- GHGs affect multiple “planetary boundaries” and climate change multiplies other risks
- switching to non-fossil energy (i.a. by electrification) is the first-order solution to climate change and ocean acidification
- nuclear is *a* solution in the mix, and may impact biosphere and land use less than some renewables, especially biofuels
- all this remains true if we ditch growth and capitalism
