Only half?
But OTOH if this really was the question WTAF you ignorant bozos:
> The most common issue reported by owners was having a maximum speed exceeding 25km/h
The law is "maximum speed that the motor provides assistance at". not maximum speed the device is capable of. Especially in the hands of someone with no sense of self-preservation like, say, a teenager. My completely manually powered cargo bike ~~regularly~~ frequently exceeds 25kph. On the flat.

Oh FFS. Vote splitting is what most supporters of minor parties do, or at least seriously contemplate.
It beats the hell out of my choice under FPP where it was vote for the candidate with a thumping majority or who gives a shit it's not going to change the result.
At least under MMP I can vote for the party I want and treat the local electorate as a "pick the least awful" choice between the two most likely winners.

@nprofile…z6pq reminds me of Malcolm Turnbull in Australia. Before he gained power "the National Broadband Network will be late, over budget and slower than promised".
Once he became PM he made sure that was true. Mostly by buying the legacy copper networks from telcos desperate to be rid of them and "at market rates" {cough}, then forcing NBNCo (a govt owned corp) to use those instead of laying fibre everywhere
This is the guy famous for saying "the laws of Australia override the laws of mathematics"

@nprofile…x9tq would the Australian approach work? It looks complex because pensioners vigorously resist "it's just a benefit, like the dole or the disability pension". So there's a separate set of rules that are somewhat more generous (and the base rate is much higher for mixed reasons, some good, some bad).

@nprofile…d2v0 @nprofile…pqf4 @nprofile…6r9q A2: I've ridden a couple of world solar challenge trikes, and a solar powered touring trike. The basic rule is that if the solar isn't a giant unweildly sail on top of the bike (or a fully faired bike with solar cells painstakingly hand-placed into the layup) the solar part powers the lights.
I've carried a ~0.5m on a side solar panel but that powered a laptop and DSLR, not a motor.

Chicken experts, what does it mean when an Australorp makes a kind of honking sneeze noise? It seriously sounds like a short parp from a party toy, but she's done it a few times while I've heard. She seems entirely happy otherwise, albeit somewhat mulberry-stained so I'm not sure of her comb colour.
Should I be concerned?

There's a whole lot of "UCI world records" that are like the "USA world series" type stuff, very impressive in their way but not actually world records.
IIRC the under-16 women's hour record from the 1980's is still faster than the "UCI world hour record".

@nprofile…skc4 Also, Critical Mass back in the day was worse, we sold stickers and t shirts and stuff at more or less cost (a T short that cost us $8.50-ish for $10 because making change is a pain) and stickers by donation. Then every year we'd spend some of the excess printing posters to advertise our biggest ride.
And a bike light give-away then eventually donated some to a bike-related cause.
Mostly done via "who has mass money in their tin?" accounting

@nprofile…skc4 100% this.
I'm part of one group that definitely does spend money, a couple of hundred dollars every year. Our local MP helped us apply for a grant so now we have thousands of dollars in a bank account.
Luckily we have an organising committee to open the bank account and organise spending the money. They keep arguing about who to donate the excess to, or what to spend it on (my input: let it sit there, it's not worth arguing about).

@npub1sh4…32nx it's a lot of money. It's a grudge purchase for me in many ways, so spending $AU1000-ish on a phone just seems bad. When I make a list of the functions I care about it's not short, and there aren't many options. Weirdly the $200 Moto thing meets most of them (incl uSD card and headphone jack!)
I just hadn't realised how much effort FP put into cleaning up Android. Which makes rewarding that behaviour by buying a FP4 seem attractive.

Bought a cheap Moto phone to replace my Fairphone 3 that's not supported on 4G in Australia.
Motorola seem determined to persuade me that I should just pay whatever it takes to get a newer Fairphone. The experience is *terrible*.
First 24-ish hours of use it has crashed twice in the middle of things. The camera is mediocre even compared to the universally panned FP3 camera. The quantity of crapware on the phone astonishes me. I never realised how much work FP did to keep that shit away from me
