Haven’t seen or heard from our lady squirrel friend in quite a while. No knocks on the back door or bangs on the rain gutter when we’re out of birdseed. As annoying as that could be it was also really endearing, and the way she’d peer inside, and curl her little paw and the tip of her tail in anticipation, was so damn cute. I really miss her. Whatever happened to her, I just hope she didn’t suffer 😢

the one that really bothers me is “cunt”. seems to be used more casually in the UK than US but it’s always said with such venom, such raw hate, that I can feel my own cunt dry up just from the proximity to such misogyny.
my coping mechanism for this is to flip the insult. it’s quite satisfying to watch male brains visibly glitch when they get called a little bitch or a cuntrag 🙃

Dude. I went through my medical records to find the date of a thing and saw shit in there that’s just not true. Never happened. The medical AI is already hallucinating bullshit into our files. And who’s the doctor gonna believe, you or the computer? Ohhh fuck…..

Don’t do this.
Food is necessary for survival, AI isn’t.
If you have $40 to feed a family of four for a week, nobody’s getting organic arugula salads with tomatoes and crumbled feta for lunch, are they?
Healthy whole food is a privilege and a luxury. Never forget that.

Hey, I’ve got a #caturday question
Does anyone local to the East Bay know anyone with the ability to foster and/or adopt three five-month-old kittens and their mama? A neighbor is involved in rescuing these sweet kitties and their current foster home can only host them for two more weeks. Neighbor is willing to fund everything (food, litter, vet, etc) she just can’t foster them herself, nor can I. She’s already contacted Community Concern 4 Cats but she’s really worried about finding them another foster home, or even better, a forever home, within the next two weeks. So I thought what the hell, I’ll ask Mastodon. You never know.
EDIT: Photos and flyer added. There are more photos available if you’re interested in fostering or adopting these little lovelies

Please stop blaming Democrats who are no longer in power for Trump unilaterally bombing Iran.
This dude is the "maybe I will, maybe I won't, tune in next week to find out" guy. Nothing short of exile to a remote island where his best friend is a piece of driftwood could've stopped this.
It's so blatantly unconstitutional that you should really understand by now that HE DOES NOT CARE AND WANTS TO BURN THE MOTHERFUCKER TO THE GROUND but yeah keep on blaming Dems, see how that ends

I wonder if that’s unique to that species of squirrel? The tawny fox squirrels we have in California laugh at rocks and simply move them aside and dig. Hell, last year we had a battle of wills with a huge-ass deer mouse, which he won by dragging all six of the mouse repellent sachets we had outside into a neat little row right by his hole. (He ultimately disappeared, and I think he was probably lunch for a hawk or king snake. Or dinner. That was a big mouse.)

Calling all mushroom enthusiasts! What the hell am I looking at? We just had an atmospheric river and these fun little guys “blossomed” at the base of the fence in less than two days. No other mushrooms are near it. Weird. Can anyone ID?

Here’s the plan:
1. Abolish the Department of Education
2. Vouchers for rich private schools
3. End public schools
4. Force mothers to quit their jobs and stay home to raise kids
5. Force kids to work too
6. No education means no revolution
7. Do you see the cycle of poverty, forced birth, enforced ignorance, and cheap labor being created here?

WHOA. After the final A’s game ever at the Oakland Coliseum today, some 400 concessions workers will lose their jobs—with no severance, no health care, no nothing. This is obscene. Some of these workers have been there 20 or 40+ years and billionaire owner John Fisher just spits on them?
No, I won’t be watching. I can’t. Mental health matters and this is simply self care. My heart hurts. 💔

So apparently my cousin’s inevitable middle-aged miscarriage has begun. She went to the doctor and was sent home. Basically told she was on her own until she bleeds out to the brink of death and/or has a heart attack. Then she goes to the ER.
This is women’s health care in Georgia. Jesus fucking christ.
