or is PSP some kind of subset of Podcasting 2.0? I feel out of the loop 😂

2026-06-11 19:06:41 UTC

Erh.... I know I've been gone a while, but why are "The Podcast Standards Project" taking the credit for the transcript tags and video? 🤔

One of the things I enjoy most about Podfriend now is the "Smart Triggers" where I can set it to add new episodes of news-like shows to the front of my queue every morning and if eg. a new episode of another good show pops in, I might tell it to pop at the end of the queue (I'll then move it to where I want it).
I also have an AI enriching podcasts with "similar podcasts" which is great for discovering podcasts I did not know.
Am I missing other life-saving podcast app features like that?

2026-05-24 09:48:49 UTC

@nprofile…td70 Question: For your SlobWorks scanner thingy.... Did I understand it correctly that you are generating a transcript per episode?
If so that could be very useful for podcast apps.
(But I am assuming you just grab X seconds of one episode?)

@nprofile…td70 Yeah, I have a lot of those. Less than in the past, but still a lot.
That and "I estimate this task will take 2 months" (done 30 minutes later) are how I will remember AI in 2026 😅

2026-05-09 17:04:30 UTC

@nprofile…td70 I would like to file a complaint that there is no Podcasting 2.0 show to listen to while I mow my lawn! If this tardiness do not cease at once, I will be forced to write in caps

@nprofile…x5pc hmmm, that's a bug, it is actually the right podcast - you just have to press show all episodes and then sort by newest - the bug is that it only fetches the first 50 episodes because of cache, and then the "this is an old podcast" message is based on that. I will fix that right away!

Wuuiiiuuuu. Now on Web, Mac, Windows, iOS (well, the build is waiting to be approved) with seamless synchronization between all platforms. Listen on one platform and continue on the next.
(Also Carplay should work, but I haven't tested it in an actual car).

Uh, Podfriend Carplay almost ready.

@nprofile…sk9g I still find Opus better. However, I've started more and more to use Opus as the mastermind and it delegating to Codex to get things implemented.

@nprofile…w0mx @nprofile…td70 I know of agents.md (and the siblins "claude.md") - but those are for local AI projects.
I do have very large doubts if any AI will even look for this online.

@nprofile…w0mx @nprofile…td70 Do bots even read or request AGENTS.md from a website?

2026-04-23 11:23:26 UTC

- reply

@nprofile…x5pc @nprofile…td70 Yeah, I've always had it on the highest. I tried to put it on medium but it still burnt extremely fast.
I even had to add $40 of extra credits to finish a work thing, and it basically burnt through them in 20 minutes 😂 Every time I refreshed the usage page I could see it had used $2.
If this is basically the "real cost", then I think the whole AI card house might come crashing down at some point, and people look towards local or non-frontier models for a lot of work.

@nprofile…w0mx probably a variant of the UPS scam where they direct you to a fake delivery website where it costs "$10" for delivery or something, but where you actually end up paying a large number.
My mom recently almost fell for something like that where it said it would charge her (through apple pay) $0.008 - but if you read the fine terms it's a "trial" and in 1 day it would charge her the annual price of $700 for the "software service" etc.

@nprofile…sk9g @nprofile…td70 @nprofile…7epg Claude Code with Opus 4.6 is great.
A good Claude.md = amazing
Installing skills = wow
Installing the "superpower" skills and asking Claude "Please search online and find other relevant skills for this project" (and it then installing things like supabase skills etc.) = Living in the god damn future.

Eek, I see a bug, where Podfriend creates a new ActivityPub item, even when one already exist. I will fix this, and hope to test it next Friday when you publish a new episode with an activitypub item!
So many bugs! But also: So many fixes!

2026-03-27 19:42:37 UTC

@nprofile…7epg & @nprofile…td70 I could only listen on mobile (and it had a lot of bugs) but I managed to then actually fix a lot of bugs because of it - @nprofile…td70 I didn't get to see the feed with your video - I hope you will do that again in the future, because I would love to test that - it's just that the episode typically falls right into family time on a Friday, so sometimes it's hard to plan!

Doing a test around ad-blocking in podcasts.
The user experience is MUCH better.
The reality is that most ads in podcasts are stupid and have no relevance for me (most are american products I can't buy anyway) - and honestly I also just hate ads.
But it feels very controversial. Why is it that? Is it because podcasts feels more personal and connected? People have absolutely 0 qualms about blocking ads in the browser, isn't it ethically the same?

2026-03-24 18:36:34 UTC

Test to see if this is picked up in Podfriend @nprofile…cnuu

Phew! It’s warm here! Coming from snow in Copenhagen, this is a nice change.

@nprofile…7epg Also, I'll actually be in Austin Texas next week! (I'm afraid I won't have much time to meet up, otherwise I'd have given more warning - it's for a company event)

2026-02-26 20:17:21 UTC

@nprofile…7epg Just FYI, the transcript of the episode 250 of Podcasting 2.0 just contains "Transcript is Processing". (Which I keep thinking is a mistake in Podfriend because I use Podcasting 2.0 to test 😂 )

2026-02-23 20:35:33 UTC

@nprofile…td70 hmmm, I feel like AI slop is gaiming the system. 😂
I guess the only way out of that is to make a manual blacklist and ban them?

Hey Kids!
Putting the final touches on a new version of Podfriend for web and desktop!
But all my boost functionality in the earlier version stopped working and I have no idea what kind of features have been implemented in the spec over the last year :O What's cool these days and how do I get boosts working again?!

2025-04-12 18:11:18 UTC

Starting coding a bit on Podfriend 3.0. Got some great ideas for it :D
I want to see if I can avoid having a dedicated server myself.
Did anyone ever easily solve the usecase of proxying podcast covers (to avoid loading a massive amount of 3000x3000 images etc.)?

2024-11-10 10:47:44 UTC

I wonder what the Trump supporters are thinking about election rigging and the "deep state" now. Did the Deep State decide that Trump was easier to manipulate or were they just not "deep" enough to actually manipulate anything? 🤔

For 10 years I've been writing on and off on a sci-fi trilogy.
Definitely a big project, but a labor of love.
The first book is almost ready.
Don't get me wrong, there' still so much polishing to do, but it feels like it's getting close.
It's quite daunting!

I'll for sure be giving away some physical copies if anyone in the Podcasting 2.0 community is interested. Maybe it will even have a value for value release!

Ended up spending two days porting my old blog to a new domain on https://www.producthints.com -
The porting was pretty easy, but I ended up procrastinating and updating all the posts with new images and content 😂
If you're interested in corporate product management and processes I do think it's a nice resource. 😀 (if you're used to being fast, agile and want to keep your sanity, then don't even look there 😅 )
