I'm so sorry for your friend and all other creatives and researchers being ripped off at scale right now.
It's a mess that original and community work is being devalued in this way.
Copying has its place, to share and preserve knowledge, but without provenance we lose important links to the rich history of its original creators.

Salvador Dali - an apolitical anarchist or an enabler for fascism?
An interesting read, as I'd not heard of this side of the artist before.

That's a useful realisation with CFS.
Recovery involves doing a lot of nothing and rest, but also accepting that your overall capacity is reduced.
Plus, neuro spicy people have a tendency to take the 100% effort straight to burnout path and relearning to dial that down is key.

It may be interesting if I could read some without signing up to a mailing list.
My approach to choosing books in shops is to read a sample and then decide whether to borrow or buy the book. I used to love doing that in bookshops and libraries.
I've yet to buy any books from online browsing but I do use it to find out more about authors / book contents.

Feedback: Intriguing image. Clicked link. Saw book covers but no descriptions.
I don't want to sign up for anything new/ go on a mailing list without more incentive, so nope.
Perhaps give readers some exciting teaser book blurb / reviews, so we know what we're getting.
P.s. I've never read your work, so I've really no idea what your books are like

Good on you for helping a neighbour out.
I'm still wary of experimenting with electrical bits, so I wouldn't have been as confident to try out spare cables in case I fried a phone by accident.

COBOL was my livelihood before web based systems. Years of keeping legacy systems going, like billing systems. Unsexy but reliable.
The only problem was having to move around the country to get the jobs.
I'd consider COBOL again if it was remote work.

I'm sure you'll find someone just as sure as I hated learning Assembler as a student.
The language hung on as way to save memory space but I preferred COBOL.

Today I'm checking the view & like count on my new YT video and being reassured that it's gone up a bit since yesterday.
Last night I was so upset noone came to the premiere that I begged a friend to look but feeling a bit better today.
So much to learn, including publicity beforehand but still Done is Better than Perfect, so there's at least that.

- had a good night's sleep last night
- completed a few household chores
- walked up to the shops and posted 4 Xmas cards, bought some bread, plus fish and chips for an early supper. The weather is mild and bright today, so I had a pleasant trip out before the colder weather arrives.

My 15 yr old Win7 laptop needs replacing. I think I need to move to Linux, to avoid the Windows11 subscription, AI features and telemetry nonsense.
The new PC will also needs to r/w discs, or have a box to RW discs, as I have CDs and DVDs that I still want to use.
Should I get a refurbished laptop / mini PC / normal PC, with Win10 and install Linux?

Oh it makes perfect sense to pay attention to when you need sleep. I hope your spouse doesn't feel offended.
I'm at a stage where I'm having to learn to do that too. Myself and a friend have accepted that sometimes bedtime is way earlier than we'd normally like. We're surprised because we used to like to stay out as late as possible.

It's probably down to what settings their photo app is on.
Mine offers 3:4, 9:16 or full screen.
There's also a panoramic option, if I want something wider.
Maybe your sister leaves her phone app on the full screen settings and hasn't looked at the alternatives.

- a phone chat with a friend, early and late in the day, to catch up
- went for a walk in the bright Winter sunshine. On my return, I discovered that my more sheltered bins had been flattened by Storm Bert, so I righted those. I also put out more bird seed in my feeder.
- hung up a laundry wash and then had an early night

The super rich love exclusive items. That's unlikely to change anytime soon. When artists had the church and royalty as patrons it was the same.
Artists have usually only seen a fraction of the money that dealers, etc make, unless they also became dealers themselves.
