Sunset at Bodie State Historic Park in Bodie, California. Though its state park status makes calling it "abandoned" debatable, the state of arrested decay the buildings are in still presents visitors with an excellent example of a ghost town left to the elements. Known as "The Street That Beat Hitler", the Frankford Arsenal was the oldest and most significant munitions facility in the US, until it was killed by private contractors. Read about how it happened at https://www.abandonedamerica.us/frankford-arsenal

@nprofile…k4h5 @nprofile…7wlh @nprofile…7vyy To your original point, I do think many believed in service of the greater good. Whether what they did while in power achieved that or was misguided is a different question entirely.

So much has been going on that I completely forgot to mention that about a week ago I found out someone who I worked with as a location contact for a bunch of photo workshops at an abandoned graveyard and considered a friend turns out to have been married to the head of a biker gang called the Warlocks who were dumping bodies in a crypt there 🫠https://web.archive.org/web/20220926184954/https://www.inquirer.com/news/donna-morelli-arrest-warlocks-motorcycle-club-mount-moriah-cemetery-crypt-keith-palumbo-20200529.html

First day back out hiking around with Charlie Peanutbutter. He did great. I'm so glad he can go out and enjoy himself with us again ❤️
