Alternatively, when the FP exposes the battery pins as probe points on the PCB, it might be easier to solder and unsolder it there. Or even keep the cable soldered and unplugged when putting in a battery.

Different phones might have different batteries and I don't see a strong need to have the same phone covered different CIs. So if you could get those connectors somehow to unblock you, I think it would already be a win.
For batteries where pins are only connected by force, when not soldered a battery mockup would also need the same dimensions in order to apply enough force for the contacts and avoid loose contact.

Thanks for you talk. I found the recording on https://media.ccc.de/v/froscon2026-3588-automated_testing_of_a_phone_operating_system. Which are the blockers you mentioned you would like to see resolved before setting up Fairphones for HIL tests yourself?

I have to wait for the recording. Would be great if you could post the link once available.

Are Fairphones already tested in postmarketOS CI or if not what are the remaining blockers and where to follow progress towards this goal?

does this work with postmarketOS on Fairphone?

I really like that the most highly rated ones are about phone usage. While workarounds and hacks for many of them exist, having them not set up reliably is a huge entry barrier. So I am really looking forward to seeing these things fixed. It would be great if this was fixed at least on the most popular distros like Mobian and pmOS.

- GND allows various backends (Miracast, Chromecast, ...)
- GND recently gained support to change resolution: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-network-displays/-/issues/352
- GND plans to become a D-Bus service in order to be integrated into GNOME Settings: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-network-displays/-/issues/308

Which protocol are you using? Maybe this could be integrated into https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-network-displays ? This already contains most of the sending logic, so one would mostly need to implement the receiving part.

Waydroid should be pretty straightforward: 1. Installing/Enabling general GPS support in the default LineageOS image, 2. Making sure Waydroid has a dependency on gpsd in the Debian package. This should be everything: https://github.com/waydroid/waydroid/issues/226
