Ahh so these are the "Campus" notebooks I've seen in all that anime!
A bit expensivos to get here in Chile, though, but I will try.

I decided to follow @npub1n7k…7g0f 's excellent advice to actually write down stuff if you're learning a language (Japanese, here) because it will stick better, and it's good practice. I probably should be using a notebook with denser paper and larger squares, or lines, or something else and not a fountain pen, because I'm not good and it bleeds through and kanji are hard, but I'm doing it and it's fun.

Apparently people in Germany (not that many, but still) are also stabbing themselves in the hands because they try to stab the avocado nut while holding it on their other hand. Don't do that.

2026-09-17 12:46:00 UTC

I just saw a video of USA people peeling avocados that is criminal.
Just in case you did not know: you don't peel an avocado. You cut it in half around the nut, twist to separate the halves, scoop the nut from the half it’s stuck to with a spoon or by hitting it with a chopping motion with a sharp knife (not stabbing it with the knife point!) to separate it, and then scoop out the avocado flesh with a spoon or fork. It's really easy when you know.

The point is not exactly that Google AI gives good results (if it only gave plainly bad results you wouldn't use it), it's how they're coopting the good information people actually create and pocketing the difference. That, in the end, makes creators like Stefano leave. And then, you don't have any more good results, but that's a problem for the future and present day Google doesn't care while line still go up. @npub1ef5…gcpc

A bit of Italian wisdom:
Either you need a larger pot, or shorter pasta. Don't do this. Heck, maybe even cut them in half, I won't tell. Though that'd still be too much pasta for that pot, and you risk it sticking.
You should be able to put all of the pasta in the pot, under water. You can "press it" slowly if it sticks out so that the part underwater becomes soft and lets the rest in.

there are other little tricks. For example, as described in the bialetti moka manual, if you're serving multiple cups from a moka pot, it's good to stir the coffee in the pot to mix it well before serving.

2026-02-20 13:13:33 UTC

The things you can do with a Moka pot are:
- using better coffee
- finding the right temperature to avoid burning said coffee.
That's it.
I'm sorry... This looks like I'm explaining it to you, and I'm not trying to. I'm just still angry about those videos.

2026-02-20 12:03:59 UTC

There's a different problem here. Your taste buds can certainly notice the difference between a moka cup and an espresso cup. It's not hard. Espresso is really much better. A moka pot is a compromise. A very good compromise, but a compromise.
But what you can do is either just be content with your moka pot or go to a café and ask a barista for your espresso doppio con un cornetto.

2026-02-19 21:34:56 UTC

Today makes another time I've seen instructions for making coffee in a moka pot as follows:
- first heat the water in the water compartment, open (up to just below the valve)
- then add the filter with the coffee and close the moka pot and let brew
And this is asinine. It's unsafe. You'll get burned. Just put the water in the pot, the filter, close the pot and heat on medium until it starts bubbling up. It's a moka pot. Don't be a pretentious jackass.

Las buh, razones: se llaman "preposiciones impropias" aquellas que pueden usarse también como adverbio o conjunción.
