I've been in business for myself for nearly a decade. Earlier this year I got the queue down to 3. That's as close as I've ever come to Queue Zero.
Dare we venture into such places? I fear that reaching Queue Zero means I am reaching my own demise.

I am currently at 12 emails in my inbox to deal with. My goal is to get to inbox zero today, and I see no reason I can't.

My Logitech M720 Bluetooth mouse randomly disconnects now. This is a recent issue, but it's insanely frustrating, like "Harrison Bergeron" levels of frustration.
I reinstalled my bluetooth drivers, but I suspect my real issue is the mouse itself. Maybe I should just go get a new one...

What do I do when I get a "verification code" for someone setting up a Tik Tok shop with a clearly stolen email address of mine?
I mean, this is why I use the +SITE when I put my email addresses into forms, and clearly I am not doing anything with this verification code, but should I go notify Tik Tok that address is fake?
I expect that the fact that I got the verification code means that it failed and that's the end of it, but.... ?
And in case anyone didn't know "Zanga" was compromised. (I don't even know who Zanga was anymore, I think that was Farmville, way back when.)

To factory reset a Google Pixel 4a, press Power and Volume Down during the boot up, which gets you to the menu. Then pick the Recovery mode, which gives you the ⚠️ Android "No Command" screen. If you hit power and Volume Up you get the screen that lets you Factory Reset the device.
Be sure to remove any Google accounts before you start, or the Factory Reset Protection (FRP) kicks in and makes you sign in to whatever accounts used to be on the device before you can go in and set it up again.
(Because Google would rather Brick a device than let it be re-used. Google used to be kewl. 😞 )

Another thing I hate about Google Apps:
If you're in their word processor, and highlight something, in KDE, you can middle click to paste it somewhere else, like a second clipboard.
Google gives zero-💩 about it. You can't copy nor paste that way because they did something to the text buffer so it's only on their side.
🖕, Google.

I am having a 💩 day so far. QuickBooks won't start because a reboot is required (no matter how many reboots are done,) another client's computer is slow for no apparent reason, and probably will need reformatted to fix it because Windows is Windows now, and Volstagg (on my own laptop) Dolphin won't open in KDE for .... 🤷

Okay, it boots and clearly unlocks enough to get to GRUB.
Then, the default option, OpenSUSE 16.0, fails with the kernel panic, presumably because the drives aren't unlocked enough.
If I go into advanced, that first entry also fails. The second (Recovery Console) boots, asks for a password to unlock, I can press Ctrl-D to make it boot normally, then I get to my desktop normally. So....
How do I make it do that automagically?

MicroWin or Tiny11? What are these?

2026-03-24 13:11:39 UTC

I have stacks of old hardware. I had two people discuss insanely old computers, and wanted something newer. In the spirit of recycling, I am preparing those.
I also was going to make an extra Linux system for one of the intermediaries to prove how easy Linux was.
I have three systems, the person I don't know at all needed Win 11 for work. The person I care most about was getting Linux. The person in the middle 'probably can work with' Linux, but would really prefer Windows because they're a normie and has never even seen the alternatives.
One system is a six year old system. That will run Windows 11.
One is something else, but the processor might not support Windows 11.
The third is an older system, the processor is just outside of the Win 11 range, but the system is decent. That's clearly going to be a Linux system.
[The Point]
The person I like best would be getting the worst hardware. The person I never met ends up getting the best.
It feels like I am doing this wrong.

Wait...
If I go to QuarteredCircle.net from outside (where it works fine) the local router forwards the request to NPM. NPM then pushes it on to Chance's internal network.
If I am inside, it gets Chance's IP. I would need to point QuarteredCircle.net's internal DNS entry to NPN, not Chance, wouldn't I?

I was inclined to start by blaming DNS, but my laptop and phone are also on the local network, getting the same DNS server (which is also @npub1ndp…uz86) and there's no issues from that direction. It's just on @npub1ndp…uz86 herself.

I don't think I followed those details. (That's a me problem, not you.)
Checking with a verbose curl gives me a resolution (also from Chance, which resolves to her internal IP,) and then gets an expired certificate. I am sure is the one from before I switched to Nginx Proxy Manager, because it was working fine until a few days ago when that old certificate expired.

Let me reword this:
When in the shell on a website host, how do I tell it to check the certificate that is publicly available; not a local certificate?

2026-02-02 13:15:00 UTC

I don't think I have had enough coffee yet, let me figure something out:
@npub1ndp…uz86 hosts Mastodon.
Chance has a local SSL from when I was manually updating it with Let's Encrypt.
I set up Nginx Proxy Manager, which handles it now.
It works, because you can read this, but if I am on Chance herself and try to open https://QuarteredCircle.net, it get a bad SSL.
...how do I correct that?
Do I need a script to copy the certificate locally every day?

#3DPrinter help, please?
What do I do?
Way back, I had worked really hard to get a solid, over burnt piece of TPU scraped off my print sheet. It wasn't TPU, it was the plastic coating on top of the print sheet. I ended up pulling the entire coating off, figured I wouldn't use that side. Since it was the only one I had, I flipped it over and put the other side down. It adhered with whatever glue held that coating on.
Today, PETG stuck to this smooth side, and while trying to get it off, the print bed scraped again. I am going to order a new one, but before I can use it I need to get this one off the bed. It is STUCK!
Pulling it pulled the near left corner up (it's not sitting crooked) and with the plastic spatula thing, I have only been able to get it this far.
What do I do? I was just going to keep yanking as hard as I can until I overcome this glue, but I am afraid I am going to rip the bed under it off. I already am going to have to go figure out how to get it to re-level itself.

I don't see the screw that was here for it, the two I have within arms reach aren't the same size, so I just pushed it back in and set it carefully down to see if it works without me having to actually screw it in. I just need to not touch it for however long it takes to erase.

Answer:
Don't be a lazy tech and actually screw the nvme into the USB adapter so that it doesn't fall out when you plug it in, you dolt.

I have a 1 TB nvme drive. It read as 1TB, and was usable for a moment, then failed and read as 0b. I moved it to a USB adapter and brought it to my laptop and it still reads as 0b.
What do I do to make it re-scan itself?

Oh, this error might be part of my issue:

All the rest are spot on, but I was getting stuck on this one.

It looks like two, but because you asked and two was the obvious answer, I am suspicious and OMGah you posted what looks like three or four hiding in there.
Dewd, you gotta give us time to guess!

How do I made it so the #KDE #Plasma touch screen I am using will right-click when I long-press on the screen?

Linux system:
If I plug it in, I do not want it to turn off. (Got this far)
Instead, I want a screensaver to come up with the time displayed, real big.
Windows did this pretty easily, but I don't think KDE has anything for screen savers, does it?

Aw we could to refer to it as CWII (a la WWII) or "The Second Civil War"? I bet Time-Warner or whoever owns The CW lobbies against that first option, but the other one is long. Maybe 2CW? Second Civ.?

My Mastodon feed is not all in English. English is the only language I read, but I have followed a few bilingual (or more) folks, and I love it. I want the exposure to other cultures, the chance to see what non-English speakers are saying, and I have a handy Translate add-on so I can.'
You'd never get this on a siloed site, it would have choked anything I couldn't read out of my echo chamber before I even could realize it existed.

Google Lens let you hold up your phone at some text in another language, and it would translate it to English for me.
Is there another app like that I can get that isn't... you know, Google?

You've got to be 🤬ing with me.
The "Solar Trail Camera, 5K WiFi Game Camera" doesn't actually have WiFi. There's a FAQ question:
Can't connect to home Wi-Fi router
The WiFi trail camera can only be connected with your phone by the App TrailCam Go. It is not intended for surfing the internet via WiFi. Rather, it is designed to conveniently read photos or videos and set up cameras.
So when they say WiFi, and they say it a lot, they don't mean you can use WiFi.
Now I gotta go hack my way into this stupid camera so I can get pictures off of it.

What possible driver am I missing?
I have this projector, presenter, pointer thing. The top button worked as page up. The middle button activates the laser. The bottom was page down. There is an infrared LED on the top next to the laser opening and an infrared receiver that plugs in through USB to my computer.
After a reinstall of Linux, it doesn't work for page up or down anymore. The laser pointer works My keyboard works, obviously.

Do it! If they are worth being on a pedestal, they can get back into it on their own.
That is, take shots at them, the real ones can take it, the face ones go away.

There will be a lot who do that, completely unprotected.
There will be a lot of compromised bot-net systems in a lot of people's homes, too.
My primary concern was that I feel like a bad person for allowing it to happen to someone on a computer for a person that I previously was responsible for.

I have a client that is going out of business, and has been for years. They're officially ending in September now (maybe.) They have been letting the two remaining employees keep their laptops, I just need to remote in, remove the anti-virus and my software so they are on their own.
The fact that they have Windows 10 systems, which is a big deal in two months, is not my problem.
[I am tooting this as a confession. I feel guilty for not going out of my way to explain that or to even try to upgrade these old systems, if they can be upgraded.]

I just searched for a new Android SSH client, preferably one that lets me make a home screen shortcut directly to a server.
Unfortunately, search drowned in monetized lists and AI slop, so I ask here:
Android SSH client recommendations?

Yeah.... Though ultimately if I want it as a chat app and an option for my D&D video calls, it'll still do.
