🚨 We have released a critical security update in all RouterOS release channels. Even though the fixed issue does not affect most home users with default configuration, we still suggest to treat this seriously and upgrade your MikroTik routers and inform other users.
To give time to update your systems, we are not currently publishing detailed information.
To upgrade your devices, you can use "Check for updates" button in Winbox/Webfig, or manually download packages:

@nprofile…u9u3 Hey guys! We are trying to set up a PeerTube server, but some people seem to be unable to follow the main account. The peertube log says that mastodon.social (or whatever server) was not answering, is it possible that some servers don't federate with peertube, or is it something on our end? On the mastodon side, the peertube account shows "pending" not "following", but peetube has no pendijng follower section to my knowledge. We do have some followers, so it works partially.

@nprofile…x8lh The vendor is doing their own double checking, even though mikrotik support approved it for RMA, is that correct? - No trackers
- And of course, find all the MikroTik content in one place, organized and sorted in an easy to follow way

@nprofile…7klc Keep an eye out this summer 👀 Some cool EU-based Wi-Fi 7 gear with 2.5G+ ports is landing soon. No need to mesh, just raw power and the extremely versatile RouterOS v7! In fact, replacing an awkward mesh with a single MikroTik device (like Audience) has been a trend in the past, so we're confident you're going to love our upcoming Wi-Fi 7 lineup.
In the current lineup, the hAP ax³ sounds like a great match.

Also, MikroTik has been in the business of making RouterOS for around 30 years, we have carefully made this feature to be as secure as possible.
It is completely disabled by default and requires explicit user action to activate, and can be disabled anytime.
All transmissions are end-to-end encrypted, relay is purely to faclilitate connection and is designed to never require decryption of user data or metadata.

of course the sharing of cat folders was made as a joke, you can utilize these features for various admin tasks as well, such as to share backup, log, script, config, other files.1/2

@nprofile…cz8r RouterOS has never been a single purpose OS. There are plenty of features that some will never enable. When a feature stays disabled, it does not impact your device in any way. And it still all fits into 16MB of storage.

@nprofile…qfh3 @nprofile…3aq3 @nprofile…nmcs in the end, the most important thing is that you made it work 👌 sorry that your out of the box experience was less than ideal

@nprofile…qfh3 @nprofile…3aq3 @nprofile…nmcs did you follow the guide and try the button sequence? In this screen yes, for some reason the other interfaces are off. Select them and click enable. It would be easier to communicate in our support portal though: http://help.mikrotik.com/servicedesk/servicedesk/

We are experiencing some DNS related issues that caused our cloud services to slow down considerably. We are actively working to solve the issue.

@nprofile…qfh3 yes you can, audience even specifically has a separate third wireless interface for such a scenario. And yes, if you attach a switch to the second port of the second audience, you will have extended your network to that other location. Actually there is a specific button to bridge audiences together like that, don’t even have to configure it in software https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/spaces/UM/pages/16351586/Audience#Audience-WPSSyncbutton

Check out the BlueSky/Mastodon bridge manual for more details: https://fed.brid.gy/docs

[taps mic] ... is this thing on? We are now bridged to BlueSky, and you can follow us there as well. It's the same account as this one, but readable from the other side, for those that prefer that network 😎
If you are on Bsky, follow the bridge account to complete the Bridge on both sides -> @ap.brid.gy
