Kek, so in Brazil the Military Police attended an occurrence where a woman was asking for help because she was getting beaten up by her husband.
The guy tried to explain that they are arab migrants, and that's OK because they follow Shariah and all that shit.
He just forgot we aren't France or England, and we don't give a fuck about migrants customs or the whole "not being racist" thing.

Got me a second hand Thinkpad, from one of those businesses that renovates their computing park every 3/5 years.
It's a Thinkpad X13 Gen 3 (2023) with a Core i5 1245U, 16GB of RAM and 512GB SSD.
It not only cost a fraction of what a new one would cost, it cost less than what people are asking for used desktop PCs because of the high prices of RAM and SSDs.
I'm mid travel and don't have time to organize my NixOS config for the laptop, so I'm running Bazzite right now, with fucking Gnome. Gnome actually looks like a great fit for a single screen setup, and for this kind of screen (it's a 13,3" screen in 16:10 layout, running in 1920x1200).

Holy fucking shit, X is a complete piece of shit.
So, my niece's X account was hacked because she is a retard who uses the same password for everything despite me telling her not to, because it seems using a password manager is too hard for zoomers.
Following simple instructions also seem to be too hare for them, because she asked me to solve it for her since following what was told to her in the email support sent was too hard.
OK, no problem. X has a very neat form you can use for when your account was compromised. I filled all the info and waited.
They sent me an email telling me that the original email account was still linked to it, so I could just reset the password through the link they sent. Cool, let me do it.
Well, the password reset system asked me twice for an auth code sent to the email to make sure I own the account. I provided it both times. Still, at the end it asked for the 2FA code.
Her account didn't have a 2FA code. She was too stupid to use a password manager, she doesn't have the brain power required to enable 2FA.
No problem. The support email had a helpful link where I could denounce a suspicious 2FA added to my account. I went there and filled the form with all the info.
They sent me an email. To make real sure I own the account (despite all provided info), I just have to log in into X, so they can remove it.
Except I can't login, because the password was changed.
No problem, I'll just reset the password.
Well, it asks me the 2FA code to do it.
Alright, let me ask them to remove the 2FA.
They want me to login to do it.
DO YOU SEE THE PROBLEM HERE, YOU FUCKING RETARDS?

@nprofile…p2qa I know it used neural network models. I mention it, the prompt makes it download specific open weight models for using in splitting the shit.
But it built the entire user interface and set up the system to use the models for the splitters, in a way that the non-tech savvy dude just had to unzip the file I sent him and use the program without having to set up anything else.

2026-08-07 01:23:13 UTC

OK, today I got kinda scared of AI because I experienced first hand something I thought was insanity until a few months ago.
See, I have a friend who works with music production. There is a specific kind of software these guys make use of that is a "splitter". It takes a track that was recorded all together and splits the different instruments and vocals and shit like that.
This kind of software costs an arm and a leg, and until a couple years ago were kinda lackluster because it's pretty hard to isolate instruments in a track.
Well, this friend of mine asked my help because I have a subscription for Claude Pro, and he found a guy who vibe coded an app like that, using open weight models with permissive licensing to do this split.
The guy distributes it as a 15 page pdf with the prompt that tells the LLM exactly what to build, how to test, and how to solve errors, and it has a Mac and a Windows version.
So I created a Windows VM, completely barebones, installed Claude Desktop in it (so it would have access to the Windows build environment it would need to compile this program), turned the 15 page pdf into a .md file cleaning up all the headers and shit, fed it to Claude Opus 5 and said "do your stuff, download anything you need".
It took almost two and a half hours. But besides clicking on buttons to give it permission to do stuff, or click on "next - next - next" on the Windows installers for the shit it needed, I didn't have to do absolutely anything. It programmed the thing, built it, tested it, debugged, solved all the issues it had, and at the end of the two and a half hours it gave me a folder with the program as a stand alone, just launch and use it.
Granted, it was not efficient. It consumed 100% of my "5 hour window" usage. It stumbled into stupid mistakes that it had to build and run the program before identifying them. Pretty sure that if I was using Claude API instead of my subscription it would have cost a fortune to build. I'm certain that someone with more experience coding would be able to build this thing little by little, giving Claude more precise instructions that would avoid the mistakes it had to correct all the time, and it would be way more efficient and fast.
Still, it's insane that someone with very little programming experience can just insert a huge ass prompt into a LLM and two and a half hours later with little to no interaction have a professional grade program that would otherwise cost a ton of money, and that works pretty well. He took a live recording of "Hotel California" by the Eagles and split it, and the results were amazing, especially considering it was a live recording.
And the actual splitting is also used by AI models, all of them open weight with permissive licenses that allow them to be used commercially. This is the kind of stuff that a few years ago you'd have to pay $200 to Apple for Apple Logic Pro, and now you can make for free.
Madness. Pure madness.

So, apparently there is some sort of "revival" of the "indie web". Basically, static HTML pages, without social media bullshit, without ads, blocking AI crawlers and all that jazz.
The idea looks pretty cool, and reminds me of the good old Geocities. In fact, one of the free sites people use for this is called Neocities.
Everything is, of course, very, very gay. Filled with troons, furries, and shitlibs in general. I mean, look at the fucking "Acceptable Usage Policy" in nekoweb.org, the site that looks a bit less gay than neocities. They literally make an exception for furry porn.
It is pretty obvious that one can't simply create a based site in these services. Making an "Welcome to Hyperborea" website with windmills of friendship everywhere is certainly a surefire way to have your account terminated before you can even refresh your page.
Still, it's free. And I think it's a shame to just let furries and troons have all the cool stuff.
So, I created a site in this shit, where I can post my schizo ramblings and all the bullshit I do, that way it won't just be lost in the fediverse void after the couple days people see it in the timeline have passed.
Could I have just created a .com website where I'm truly independent and can say "nigger" as much as I want? Probably. However this would require me to register a domain name, then get some hosting, then deal with all the bullshit to avoid crawlers and shit like that, which it seems these services already provide.
This would cost money, and then either require me to doxx myself (usually through requiring documentation for registering, or getting my info when I'm paying through a credit card) or else jump through a lot of hoops to try and stay anonymous.
Nekoweb is free (with limitations that I think I'll never reach), and to create an account all I had to do was to provide my anonymous email from an encrypted service.
Also, honestly, I don't really know how much leeway you have to be /ourguy/ in an open personal website without eventually getting raped by the government or some shitty ong that exists only to persecute us.
Things in general are pretty schizo, and I think I don't hate it.
As a funny addendum, apparently there is a lot of sperging about the terms "IndieWeb", "web revival" and "indie web". Reminds me a lot of open source and free software sperging.
>come on, this sucks, you can't say nigger or post loli in there
yeah, I say nigger and post loli in the fedi. My schizo rambling usually doesn't involve loli or saying nigger either way
>it sucks, it's full of troons
see, there is no need to interact with troons, and you can dismiss them in a way that won't break whatever stupid TOS there is by simply ignoring them. And this usually makes them seethe even more. Also, one can think about it as "us invading their space". As long as you don't break their stupid rules, there is nothing wrong in disagreeing with everything they stand for.
>no, that's stupid, because you'll be tiptoeing around their rules and they'll still ban you for wrongthink
that's kinda giving up before the battle. And again, the only cost is a disposable email.
>I hate you, you suck and no one cares about your retarded opinions, kill yourself faggot
understandable, have a nice day.

https://avpassociation.com/us-state-age-verification-laws-for-adult-content/
Really? Will the best server if I want an exit node from the US really be Commiefornia?

Already changed it back. I refuse to say "BCE" and "CE" instead of "BC" and "AD", and I refuse to call a master branch "main".

I found out that using Claude for brainstorming gave me better results than ChatGPT (and WAAAAAAAYYYY better results than Gemini).
I use Claude on the web, with some more powerful model like Fable or Opus at high processing power (usually Max), and come to it with what I want to do, how I plan to do it, and what are my requirements. Then it suggests any adjustments, and after we are settled, it creates a "blueprint", with the project broken in blocks that can be sequentially built and tested as things go.
Then I throw this blueprint in the Claude extension inside VSCodium, and work together with Somnet (or Opus, if I need something smarter and can spare the tokens) to build it.

@nprofile…lg9k 16GB VRAM is pretty low for running any substantial model.
"Pro" GPUS for working with AI start at 32GB, which would allow me to either load a full 30B model directly inside it, or for me to load a more substantial 80B model by using the same tricks I'm using now.
As far as I'm aware, for instance, Vedal started running Neuro in a dual GPU system, and nowadays he either runs her on a dedicated machine using a pro graphics card, or he rents a server to run her on (he doesn't really disclose his hardware).

@nprofile…lg9k yeah, main problem is GPU, to be honest.
There are very interesting machines that could be used at home using the new Nvidia GB10 architecture, which combines an ARM processor with an unified memory of up to 128GB, so you can have a relatively small machine running pretty big models.
It costs... a lot of money. Even more for me here.
My current system is a Ryzen 5900XT with 128GB and a RX 9070XT 16 GB, which is my biggest bottleneck.
I have been pretty successful in running Qwen 30B in it, because I can offload some of the experts to my RAM. But a 30B parameter model is not really smart at all.

@nprofile…lg9k more or less
I have a post where I talk more about the project and show some screenshots here: https://detroitriotcity.com/notice/B811QxStRnzPkg61lg
It's nothing as advanced as Neuro, however. At least not right now. Especially because I doubt I have enough GPU power to run a model that can look at the screen in real time to play games.

2026-07-08 02:43:08 UTC

Now I have managed to config llama-swap to change the model and unload it to RAM, so I can free the GPU for playing games while still keeping the bot semi functional and without losing the temporary context.
She loses her "vision" capabilities, though, because I'm loading a way simpler model in place.
I set it up on shortcuts on my chink streamdeck clone, and even put native Noctalia notifications to tell me when it activates.
The % number in the top left corner is GPU VRAM usage. I have around 23% of VRAM being in use all the time, in part because it seems Niri+Noctalia use a bunch of VRAM to draw in 4 simultaneous displays (including a 4k one), plus web apps also use a lot of it, and I also have the live avatar running in my case monitor all the time (full animations still pending, for now I'm using some placeholders that don't work with the tails)

@nprofile…lku3 @nprofile…f02u @nprofile…7svd no, that's not the Virtual Boy.
The Virtual Boy was that Nintendo console that required you to stare into a small monored screen to do stereoscopic 3D.
The glasses he's referring to about are some pretty high tech shit, that used the tech behind CRT monitors and TVs to create a stereoscopic 3D effect.
Basically CRT displays scan lines alternating: in one refresh, it shows only the odd lines, and in the next refresh it shows only the even lines.
These glasses synchronized with the TV, and interpolated each eye alternating. So if the game was prepared to send different images to each line type, with the glasses it was possible to send two slightly different images, one to each eye, which could create the illusion of 3D. The drawback is that it halved the refresh rate for the viewer.
SEGA released this shit for the Master System in 1987, and then 1989 for the other regions. Unfortunately very few games support it.
Nintendo also released it for the Famicom at around the same time, but it sold very poorly so they discontinued it and never released it outside Japan, preferring to use the blue and red tinted glasses that do more or less the same shit but in monochrome only and are way cheaper.

I thought our government hated us, but looking to the other side of the pond, you can see that the people in charge there derive some sort of sadistic pleasure in tormenting and torturing Europeans in the most cruel way they can imagine.
Guys, you won't be able to vote your way out of this. French people are so proud of their revolution and how they murdered their nobility, I think it's time you take the guillotines out again.

So I have finally installed 2 12 TB HDDs in my PC, to be able to hoard all the bullshit I had and give some breathing room to my 2TB NVMe disk that was already at 96% occupation.
Now I have 21.8 TiB of physical available space (which means about 10.9 TiB of actual available space, since I'm using RAID 1).
It's pretty fun to see netdata graphs while I'm transferring data between the disks.
Incidentally, I found out that one of the reasons my disk was almost full was because I have an over 500 GiB folder filled with cosplayer whores showing their pussies.

@nprofile…2llx that used to be called a "regular game".
"Regular games" nowadays fall in two camps:
- AAA slop filled with microtransactions/DLC or a fucking "live service"
- indie slop that requires you to play it over and over and over again to slowly grind "metaprogression" that will allow you to finally experience the whole story after unlocking everything. (not to mention said indie game will be in Early Access for 5+ years and you'll have access to the complete story only after the 1.0 release, if you are lucky. And it will most certainly be underwhelming)

Today is a very sad day.
The church in my hometown, one of the oldest Gothic-style churches in the country, built in 1904, caught on fire. A lot of history was lost today.
The altar came from Italy, and the church had beautiful classical paintings of all the steps in the Passion of Christ on the walls around.
But, more importantly, it had a lot of stuff made here. Stained glass windows made by the Italian immigrants who colonized the region. Registry books with the names of the people who got wed, and the babies baptized there. Small snippets telling the story of the people who built not only the city, but the whole region.
No idea what could be saved yet.
The only silverlining is knowing that it was an accident, and not a criminal fire. We don't have jews or muslims torching churches around here.

@nprofile…8cpz @nprofile…2g7j take a look at Fedora Atomic. It's basically the entire base of the distro in an "atomic" package (it means the updates work atomically, they either completely apply correctly or they don't apply, and you can roll back to the previous state instead of borking your system).
And then the userland programs are all installed as flatpaks, and are split from the system. That makes it a bit less flexible in messing up with the deep parts of your system like changing window manager and shit like that (it's possible but it's a chore), and also requires some layered solutions to add stuff like extra CLI applications, but for a regular desktop user I think they are the best thing ever.
I used it for years before I turned completely schizo and jumped to NixOS.
