I'm also nonbinary and on the autism spectrum.
I'm also a fan of various pieces of media, including, but not limited to...

@nprofile…zw3r I actually used to watch Asmongold. I thought he was a relatively average gaming streamer with the occasional political discussion here and there. While I didn't always agree with him 100% of the time, it was a nice change of pace compared to other streamers focused on video games.
However, the moment he declared Palestinians to be "inferior" in that little speech of his, I immediately stopped watching. Since then, he's devolved into becoming a poster child for certain right-wing online spaces, for some reason.

@nprofile…zw3r Thanks, I really appreciate that. Achievement hunting is a form of 100% completion which is something that isn't for everyone. It can also be very time consuming, and due to school, that leaves me little room for it. In addition, there are some games that I simply refuse to 100%, whether it'd be due to said games' poor quality or an exhausting number of achievements.
Though, I did find this one website called retroachievements.org which allows you to earn community-created achievements in retro games through an emulator. It's a really cool service and there's a surprisingly massive library of supported titles.

@nprofile…er6e Stuff like that pisses me off, but doesn't surprise me. These big corporations can make as many shitty decisions as they want without facing any consequences because they can simply throw their employees and subsidiary studios under the bus. In other words, the people who actually work are punished for somebody else's laziness and poor decision making.

@nprofile…er6e This is awesome! I'm glad that Tango GameWorks was able to find another place to work, especially after MicroSoft screwed them over by laying off the studio.
I still don't understand why MS made that decision, but they can go screw themselves now that Tango is back in the industry.

@nprofile…er6e I originally thought that Space Marine was the "video game adaptation" of Warhammer, but it wasn't until recently when I realized that the IP has a ton of video games. I remember playing the tabletop game, one of the few board games I've played that wasn't a completely agonizing experience.

@nprofile…er6e I have mixed feelings on Watch Mojo. They're a channel that serves little purpose other than being a generic 'top 10' creator and makes some of the most cookie-cutter safe-as-hell videos on YouTube. Back in the early-to-mid 2010s, they were a great go-to channel for certain topics and allowed me to easily find games that were within a genre. Nowadays, they're irrelevant and barely reached the views they achieved a decade ago.

@nprofile…er6e Wow! What an absolute scumbag. Then again, I shouldn't be surprised. People in Harrison's position are frequently guilty of screwing up games and getting in the way of creative freedom for monetary purposes. It's a shame people like him have so much power in the gaming industry, especially because he knows very little about video game development.

@npub1h29…gq7w Huh, I never knew Duke Nukem 3D was ported to the Saturn. However, I think it also received a port for the Nintendo 64, albeit, in a censored form.
I think my dad thought that the game was a rip-off of DOOM because, that's what most shooters were referred to as during the mid-90s, "DOOM clones". I feel like around the time stuff like Goldeneye and Half-Life came out, FPS games were starting to be viewed as more than such.

@npub1h29…gq7w Ah, Duke Nukem 3D. This is probably one of the most unique FPS games I've ever played. The interactive environments in particular were awesome and it's kind of a shame we barely see stuff like this in modern shooters.
Funny story, my dad once told me that he bought Duke Nukem as a teenager, but refunded the game since he thought it was a rip-off of DOOM. After playing the game in its entirety, I must say he heavily missed out on an incredible experience.

@npub1h29…gq7w I agree. I usually try to keep an open mind on reviews, even if the opinions expressed are the exact opposite of what I personally think. But with these, I just can't spend more than a few minutes watching it.
Not even a few minutes ago, I found one of those YouTubers rant about how Sonic X Shadow Generations is "woke", because the dialogue and plot received some changes. Like, the story for Generations was never good to begin with, it's such a non-issue.

@npub1h29…gq7w Man, the YouTube algorithm just keeps getting worse and worse. It's a real shame; people who are genuinely passionate about making videos get pushed to the sidelines, but rage bait and stuff like... this are recommended. I tried searching up reviews for the Dead Rising remaster, and all I got were those anti-DEI conspiracy theorist grifters. For fuck sakes, all I want to know is whether the remake is good, not about what topic of the week people are upset about.

@npub1h29…gq7w Wait, Ghost of Tsushima was based on masculinity? I thought that game primarily tackled Asian culture.
Then again, there are some people who view games like Tomb Raider and Duke Nukem 3D as "macho" and "masculine" because they have sexy women. The thing is the women in those games were attractive so it could appeal to teenage boys, not full-grown manchildren. Hell, the latter actually satirized macho culture and was very tounge-in-cheek.

@npub1h29…gq7w Wait, GameStop is still alive?! I thought that company was screwed the moment the COVID pandemic hit in 2020.
