Quellen in Reply.

Hey, @nprofile…84an , es gibt da diesen
https://www.rnd.de/politik/politische-bildung-bpb-will-sich-staerker-um-linksextremismus-kuemmern-LJUQBESIFJG7TA7S3VWVJZ42IU.html
Könnt ihr dazu was sagen?
Alles in Deutschland.
Was geht vor, Innenminister & CSU oder Wissenschaft?

@nprofile…nlha phew, this is the best answer I could have hoped for! Shellac is my preference anyway since it is quick & easy to apply (and looks great :blobcathappypaws: ).
It is dissolved in alcohol before application though. Do you think this might be an issue? I wouldn't mind testing a small area, if I can get a result in, say, not more than a few months (like: will the shellac flake off due to pulled-up oil)

2026-07-26 19:50:46 UTC

Woodworking question:
I made a desk top from reclaimed wood which is of the oily type, possibly teak. It's unfinished and this is a problem since papers placed on the desk get oil-stained.
What is a good, preferably natural, way to deal with this? Oil with a drying oil? Scrub with denat alcohol? Scrub with terps? Combination? Shellac finish? Scrub before shellac?
I have never dealt with oily wood before :confused_dog:

@nprofile…s0v8 another point worth mentioning: in a corporate setting, bypassing coding standards in favour of short-term dev speed gains happens. Python is very susceptible to that due to the optional nature of e.g. typing. You can probably enforce with git hooks, but you need to convince someone to make that mandatory and keep it mandatory. And adding process is not exactly what you want in corpo world. I prefer pointing at the compiler and say "sorry, boss. It said no".
