I'm going to attend #github #githubuniverse for the first time. Is there anyone who wants to meet up? Anything to be aware of?
I am most certainly planning to go to the #homeassistant booth to complain about the lack of out-of-box or even own-branded #epaper support...

2026-10-27 22:31:55 UTC

Wasn't there a synchroton or laser or other excursion at #39c3? Is there going to be a repeat for #40c3?
I'd love to actually plan ahead and do something for once.

As we descend into flu season, please consider getting boosted against #COVID and #flu. In particular if you're planning to attend superspreader events such as #40c3 and #fosdem

We're currently driving literally through a street festival. Squeezed in front of a drummer procession, stuck behind a huge truck with Ganesha on it (judging from the form from behind). The car doesn't have A/C so all windows are open and firecrackers are going off around us. The driver is having a phone conversation at max volume and laughing his ass off.
Good opportunity to observe street life.

I've decided to buy all the books by all the #comic artists who post on #mastodon
They have self-selected to be at least half decent, I get stuff to read, and they get support for doing the right thing.

We're running #PromCon the #Prometheud conference in #Munich. I always used my home as the address for #CNCF, sponsors, etc to ship stuff. Rent a van, drive it there, done.
One sponsor decided to send 150 backpacks.
Their vendor sent me 16 distinct tracking links -- while I am away in #India.
That'll be interesting.

#FOSDEM will happen on the weekend of 2026-01-30 and 2026-01-31!
We'll post a proper news item once all the automations work after our yearly archiving cutover.

2026-08-30 07:11:53 UTC

@nprofile…q7dx how did you end up doing #CO2 monitoring at #emfcamp? Between #fosdem and #eventinfra we are close to spending 10k€ on #airgradient because they do most things right, and we were not able to get our own hardware spun up.
Intention is for everything to go into the eventinfra loan pool so ALL the conferences can monitor their environments.
Before we make that step, we wanted to check if it makes sense to collaborate on fully open hardware, firmware, and software stack instead.

Taking "speed of 3.5 ton RV in the North" into account, what do locals/hyperfocussers suggest as a the best spot for height/visibility and cloud reasons?

2026-08-11 09:03:21 UTC

My summer holiday is to chase the #solareclipse in Spain tomorrow with an RV.
I am in the North of Spain for heat reasons. My current thinking is to chase the center path of the totality for #solar #eclipse duration reasons.
#Luarca seems like a good spot but it's supposed to be a bit cloudy. The eclipse is relatively late so I need to take position on the sky into account as well.
