On a journey to discover the *real* Jesus of the Bible, not the twisted evangellical prop.

Turns out living paycheck to paycheck is better than working in corpo tech.

I'm loving the home school stay-at-home parent life

Luxuries be damned, I'll never regret trading my windowless office for being with my kids everyday.

I got a new lamp and decided to try and use it to take a dramatic shot of my workbench. honestly I'm pretty happy given it was taken with a phone (though edited on a computer)

I recently had a dream in which I was painting and I felt nothing but joy. No anxiety over if it was good enough. no worries if others would like it.
With no thoughts about the outcome, I exprienced only the happiness brought from the act of creation itself.
I wish I could experience this in real life 🫤

semi-related side note.
You should look at wallabag. self hosted application that archives articles for offline reading and syncs across devices.
It the client even runs on my hacked kindle, so I can use my phone to archive interesting things then read them on the e-ink display later.

Wars, political intrigue, assassinations, erotic poetry, lil bit of incest, the most polyamorous man in human history - all kinds of interesting things.

you do such a good job of showing a transformation in Girl. Childhood innocence to adult reality. The joy of tech discovery in my own youth, when everything felt magical, to the techno-dystopia I clearly see as an adult.
Makes me sad for her. I hope someday she finds peace, she deserves it. We all do.

absolutely, I wasn't trying to imply you ever *would* do that, just that the theoretical idea popped into my head. I have no doubt there are some unsavory journalists that would do that though.

I have no doubt you are far too ethical to do so, but dang you could make a hell of a tidy sum "creatively investing" prior to publication!
And since the info you found was technically public (or at least was found by outside sources that, theoretically any investor could have found) it wouldn't even be insider trading.

Big news! I have published my first custom TTRPG map! I'm still learning so it's not professional level, but I dearly hope someone can get some use out of it.
You can get it for free here:

I had one of those ideas that's either clever or stupid.
In order to make a pile of soil that's full of weed/grass roots usable I dumped the dirt in a bucket of water and mixed it well, then strained it into another bucket using hardware cloth to filter out all of the weeds.
Then I poured the water into an old collapsible tub hoping that as the water evaporates good soil will be left behind.

I read a great scifi short story on this. The main character starts to notice that all his friends/neighbors that have lost jobs to AI are suddenly getting alternate forms of income. Unexpected settlements, art commissions, selling clothing designs, etc.
He discovers that it's all fake. The money is actually coming from a secret UBI that AI set up to keep the economy afloat.
Really wish I could remember the name of that story!

Someone's kindness made me cry today.
My son's been attending a kids sewing class at a local fabric store.
The owner saw how much he loves it, and had offered to sell us a machine at a discount for him to use at home, but it was still out of reach for us financially. I told her we'd save up for it for Christmas.
Today she gave us that sewing machine free. She said she wanted him to be able to continue to sew at home.
Enabling his passion is such a priceless gift and I'm incredibly thankful.

Where the FUCK did all the hacktavists go? I seriously can't figure out why there's not more cyber push back.
*If there were ever a time when it's moral to break the law it's now.*
Why don't I see headlines about ICE being breached, or white house data leaked? Why aren't cronies like Musk and Banon being targeted?
The military is deployed in our streets, politicians are being arrested and shot.
What are we all waiting for?
