New year – new bike
As I'm writing this, at the start of 2025, I must confess that I'm not planning on buying a new bicycle. That was an option, and of course I considered it. However, buying new seems so utterly wasteful, and upgrading seems to be a far better choice. In fact, I previously wrote about how Upgrade Is The New N+1.

I'll keep repeating this, until the reality hits even those who never cycle that protected cycle lanes are good *for them, too*:
Protected cycle lanes improve YOUR health
Protected cycle lanes increase house prices
Protected cycle lanes increase business profits

People are leaving Melon's Xitter site in their masses, and that's a good thing. However, some are migrating to Mastodon, and some are going to Bluesky.
That risks splitting up online communities that took years to build.
Please bridge your account by following these steps?

@npub1nk4…us2w People like you should be forced to go eat their lunch in the far corner of the parking lot. In the rain. Alone.

Ever wondered what a Google Streetview car looks like?
Wonder no more.

Passed the Google #Streetview car in #Plymouth, while I was out #Cycling.
Not the 1st time I got snapped by a Streetview car while out cycling - the previous time was around 2008.
1st time I have video of it happening though

These people are idiotic! Expanding Bristol airport, just as climate change is killing 100s in Spain.
Absolute frigging MORONS!

I need to start buying solar panels, and storage batteries. Even if I start with a single panel, and gradually start adding to it, within a few years I'll be mostly self-sufficient for electricity.
Alongside that, I need to learn more about permaculture, and start putting my large rear garden to productive use.
Current plan is to build a smallish poly-tunnel, to greatly extend the time frame during which I can grow things.

If I asked you what mech hanger your bike uses, would you know what I'm talking about? If so, would you know the EXACT model of mech hanger? And would you know where to get it from? And do you have a spare *right now*?
If not, why not?

The recent flare-up of anti-trans and anti-gay hatred has been HEAVILY funded by Russia. If you're 1 of of those who fell for it, then you've allowed yourself to become a UI to Russia.
UI = Useful Idiot
