Recursive enshitification...
'Employers who thought they were being smart by getting AI to sift job applications, meanwhile, are reaping what they sowed, as resentful applicants automate their end of things too and spray-gun applications across the board, rather than concentrating on the jobs they really want. Now neither side can separate the wheat from an avalanche of chaff.'

Just as it’s never 'the right time' to discuss gun control after a mass slaughter in the USA, it’s never the right time for a facile commentator like David Frum to mention Israel's slaughter of 70k+ in present-day Palestine by the world's only self-described officially 'Jewish' state.
Context only matters when it supports the white/colonialist narrative.
Because, as Frum intimates, they're only inhuman savages, these enemies of Western civilization.

This really is an important read.
Q. How do you deal with that system?
A. By hitting it where its heart is: in its wallet.

The astute will recognize a metaphor here for the greater relationship between humanity and the planet.
It is the same.

We’re convinced we animate our bodies.
That we’re the brains running things (like aliens merely using our bodies to get around, a favourite cartoonist once said).
Then we learn our bodies animate us.
The extent to which we depend upon and are made by them.
It’s a hard lesson...
Be kind to yourself.
Eat well.
Enjoy life.
Do your best without punishing yourself.
And know that even then, good as you be, it can end any time.

Classic climate reporting today.
Accelerating glacier loss linked to reduced reflectivity owing to ash from wildfire smoke.
No mention how glacier loss or wildfire smoke connected to our disastrously outrageous energy and consumer waste.
In fact, to help readers understand the scale of the loss, we resort to one of the major culprits: the absurdly oversized baby carriage pick-up trucks marketed to narcissistic idiots by big auto.
Eff me.

As my nothing-but-the-shirt-on-his-back WWII-survivor father often bitterly impressed upon me when we talked injustice:
'Might is Right'
These people are no better than the Nazis who destroyed his homeland, industrially murdered millions, and brought Europe to ruin.
Indistinguishable, in fact.

She's named but the principal is not.
Why?
Because CBC is a racist outlet supportive of Israel's ultra-fundamentalist religious fanatics.
And itself a colonialist instrument.

A music giant and one of my reference points for navigating anything to do with music or life.
'“I gladly took on the [Windows 95] project as a creative challenge and enjoyed the interaction with my contacts at the company,” Eno wrote on Instagram. “I never would have believed that the same company could one day be implicated in the machinery of oppression and war.”'

Check the photo here.
We’re spending billions to kill these people.
America's top weaponry.
Battle-seasoned troops.
Still not done, though.
They're still somehow threatening us from their evac tents and pack animals.
Do I have this correct?
What might be the difference between events in Gaza and the slaughtering tens of thousands of Italian New Yorkers, say, to wipe out the mafia?
In what way does it make any imaginable sense?

America would struggle.

Some doofus American chamber of commerce guy from upstate NY, I think it was:
'We want Canadians to visit. We know they feel hurt.'
Just fuck off.
We’re not 'hurt' - we’re angry.
And it’s not that alone keeping us away.
It’s your Nazi president's Gestapo at the border and everywhere one goes.
Fix that.
Then try talking.

“The drones would come down and pick off civilians – children”, retired surgeon Nizam Mamode told British MPs in November.
“We [were] operating on children who would say: ‘I was lying on the ground after a bomb had dropped and this quadcopter came down and hovered over me and shot me’”, he added.

Well, the poster has blocked me despite my long and continuing effort to keep the issue in view and without addressing the concern I raised about how to tell legit advocates apart from those looking to suck people into the X ecosystem.
Doesn't change my opposition to an obvious genocide the world pretends not to see, but I am done with this particular exchange.
