When the leaders speak of peace
The common folk know
That war is coming.
When the leaders curse war
The mobilization order is already written out.
Those at the top say: peace
And war
Are of different substance.
But their peace and their war
Are like wind and storm.
War grows from their peace
Like son from his mother
He bears
Her frightful features.
Their war kills
Whatever their peace
Has left over.

On the calendar the day is not
Yet shown
Every month, every day
Lies open still. One of those days
Is going to be marked with a cross.

Nash Rambler (I think) spotted at 0:46
My parents owned a Nash in the late fifties, replaced it with a Chevy Corvair in 1960 or so. I wasn’t yet ten so no real memories (and no photos, which is odd bc my father was a shutterbug).

I met a fellow old dodger there who invited me to head to the village for the after midnight set at Small’s and I was very tempted … but … I have a plane to catch tomorrow, so I passed.

Other than that, Thetford Mines looks mostly like this.

Thetford Mines was once the “Asbestos Capital of the World.”
Now the mines are all closed and the town is surrounded on all sides by mountains of tailings.

Buildings in QC are a little bit Paris, a little bit, I don’t know, Reykjavik?

i ran into an old guy (i.e., a contemporary) in the apartment entry. he said bonjour, as did i, but then he stopped and said more insistently BONJOUR so i stopped and said je dis bonjour (which prob’ly shoulda been j’ai dit bonjour) and he said something that i didn’t catch, pointing to his ear, so i smiled and tugged on my earlobe and said moi aussi, at which point we are ready to exchange emails and linkedins and everything, but carried on our ways instead, after mutual bonne journées.
