Taxes cannot ‘raise enough’ money.
Australia can fully fund any project it wants and does not have to save in one area in order to spend in another.
The federal government is the issuer of Australian currency and as such there is no limit to what it can spend.
It is ideology that prevents spending on the health and wellbeing of Australians not budget restraints.

Having used the new Woden bus interchange I withdraw my criticism.
While not perfect it is much better than my initial cursory inspection led me to believe. There are roofed sheltered areas with glass on three sides. While some areas will suffer in cold windy weather it is a reasonable attempt to provide shelter while maintaining accessibility.

Just read Tear Tracks by Malka Older.
A short story exploring the suffering, sacrifice and strengths needed to be a good leader.
The main human protagonist makes contact with an alien race and attempts to open a dialogue with them. The humans carry their own concepts of what attributes a leader needs. They do not align with the culture of the alien race.
Consensus isn’t found and the humans leave with a new appreciation of suffering and strength.
It lead me to think our own leaders would be better at their jobs if they endured more suffering and enjoyed less privilege.

Choosing a single person to represent all Australian Jews is problematic.
It was, nonetheless, obvious from the outset that choosing the President of Israel was a decision that increased dissent, disharmony, division and social conflict.
The right for Australians to express a political opinion and assert the implied right to free speech is being suppressed with a frightening rapidity.
A cynic might argue that Herzog was asked to visit in order to justify laws designed to suppress political expression. A goal of the Zionist lobby.

The power of lobby groups and systemic international interference in Australian politics.
Frontier War Massacres of Indigenous Australians
While there have been some apologies (3 were found) they are relatively recent and specific. There has not been a comprehensive, nationwide apology from the Australian Government for the frontier massacres that occurred across the continent. Many Indigenous communities and advocates continue to call for such an apology, as well as for truth‑telling and reparations.
Hoddle Street Massacre (1987):
· No apology from politicians found in available records.
· No National Day of Mourning found in available records.
· Note The perpetrator, redacted, attempted to issue personal apologies years later.
Port Arthur Massacre (1996):
· No apology from politicians found in available records.
· No National Day of Mourning found in available records.
Bondi Terror Attack (2025):
· Prime Minister Anthony Albanese issued a public apology at a national memorial service.
· A national day of mourning was observed on January 22, 2026, with official memorials and flags at half-mast.

Ok you asked for it😊.
Two Cognitive Processes are at work:
· Selective Attention: Your brain has a filtering system. Once something becomes relevant (because you learned it, bought it, or discussed it), your brain starts to prioritize it, noticing it more while ignoring other similar things.
· Confirmation Bias: After the initial notice, you unconsciously look for and remember every subsequent encounter, confirming your belief that it's appearing more often. You forget all the times you didn't see it.
It's an Illusion: The frequency of the thing hasn't actually changed. What has changed is your awareness of it and your brain's pattern-detection machinery kicking into gear.
It’s the "frequency illusion," coined by Stanford professor Arnold Zwicky.
Common Examples:
· Learning a new word and then seeing it in articles the next day.
· Buying a specific car model and then noticing that model on every street.
· Hearing about a rare disease and then seeing news stories about it soon after.
Yes, I am a nerd and I really like learning about human biases.
