If you ever used talk space and are in California. Get them to delete your logs and records. An employer being sued for pregnancy discrimination has asked and received all of the chat logs of the plaintiff with a talkspace therapist.

A designer who is native runs a Rezdogs rescue operation in Navajo nation and puts out fire designs for t-shirts to support the rescue work. Highly recommend buying some.

Zohran is the ONLY candidate who has actively embraced South Asians as part of his campaign. Kamala did NOTHING other than make Dosa with Mindy. It was highly embarrassing. Nikki did less than nothing. As they say, actions speak louder than words.

Good News Sunday! Birding circles are abuzz with this news but I did not know it wad the FIRST successful bald eagle nest in Oakland!
`Oakland is part of bald eagles’ natural habitat, but years of exposure to DDT and human interactions greatly impacted their ability to reproduce in the area. This nest is the first successful bald eagle nest to be recorded in Oakland’s history since scientists began tracking their populations. `

Our punishment oriented world does not enable this at all. When children see adults get "punished" then they also lie & resist accountability. They become the adults you do not want to be around.

2025-08-05 14:50:38 UTC

My baseline principle is children deserve to live, be cherished & rewarded for their curiosity, learning & remediation. Everything else follows from that.

It is JUST this simple. Not banning abortion, but making child care easy, paying child care providers decent wages.
```
Even with support from the state, she and her husband were paying $800 a month…
```
```
But during the pandemic, that cost went down to $0. And Sanchez was not only able to finish college, but enroll in nursing school. “We are a one-income household,” said Sanchez, whose husband works while she is in school. Having free childcare “did help tremendously”
```
```
Around the same time, Ofelia Gonzalez and her sister began receiving assistance from the state to develop their at-home childcare center…The state started reimbursing their work at higher rates, which allowed them to buy toys and swings for the backyard, and raised wages for childcare workers across the state, which allowed Gonzalez to begin saving “so that I can have good credit and in time I can have my own home”, she said in Spanish.
Golfing is NOT good for your health. You are likely to get Parkinson's disease if you live near a golf course vs not because of the pesticides used to treat the grass.
https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamanetworkopen/fullarticle/2833716#google_vignette
`A total of 419 incident PD cases were identified (3043 male [59.5%]; 4504 White [88.1%]). After adjusting for patient demographics and neighborhood characteristics, living within 1 mile of a golf course was associated with 126% increased odds of developing PD compared with individuals living more than 6 miles away from a golf course. `
`Individuals living within water service areas with a golf course had nearly double the odds of PD compared with individuals in water service areas without golf courses and 49% greater odds compared with individuals with private wells. `
`Individuals living in water service areas with a golf course in vulnerable groundwater regions had 82% greater odds of developing PD compared with those in nonvulnerable groundwater regions.`
Something I did not see anywhere else except Faux Moi : every CEO of luxury brands was there at the inaugration despite not being american citizens. https://www.reddit.com/r/Fauxmoi/comments/1i5y193/bernard_delphine_and_alexandre_arnault_have_seats/
Let's also not forget "Usha Vance was dressed by several high-fashion designers, including Oscar de la Renta, Gaurav Gupta, and Sergio Hudson"
Consider not buying luxury brands going forward. Buy vintage, sew your own clothes or buy from indie designers who are from oppressed communities who are NOT cheeto supporters.
Sydney is building its OWN fleet of ferries that will be battery powered. I cannot even IMAGINE how game-changing this will be for the ocean life around Sydney. Best part is its going to be locally built. They will not have to depend on another country to build it for them. It will employ local workers. A lesson here for everyone.
"Transport is also preparing a business case to commission an eighth, electric-powered Parramatta River Class vessel that could be ready for trials by early 2026. This eighth vessel would be Sydney Ferries’ first electric vessel and would provide the road map for the introduction of new electric ferries across the harbour."
This is absolutely amazing. U.S. coastal remote town that has strong tides is going to use tidal power to power some aspects of its microgrid.
"A microgrid would work as such a source. Electricity generated on the island would feed into a battery array, which would feed into the microgrid. The microgrid would remain connected to the regular electrical grid and run as normal when times are good. In the event of a storm or interruption, the microgrid could “island off” for three to four hours—which is the average duration of an outage—allowing residents to flick on their lights, run their refrigerators and heat their homes as normal.
The work requires various parts locking together: The solar, the tidal, the battery and the grid itself all must coordinate."
BTW the website for Amazon strikes is https://makeamazonpay.com/
They are asking for your endorsement of your action & donations to enable them to continue these strikes & let them know of any protests you might organize. They want goverments to do better with regulations & Amazon to do better by their workers.
What they are NOT asking for is to stop buying from Amazon. I have emailed the contact information listed on the website to clarify what exactly they want us to do as customers of Amazon.
Hope this helps before anyone starts saying I am anti-union because I asked for clarification on what workers want customers of Amazon to do.
What the freak is the point of a national archives museum???
“The Wall Street Journalhas an incredible story today.The National Archives museum, under Biden-appointed U.S. Archivist Colleen Shogan, has been working to reshape its narrative of American history in order to make white conservatives more comfortable. The Journal describes a pattern of efforts to shape its newest upcoming exhibits to better fit right-wing narratives of U.S. history. The museum has removed references to Martin Luther King Jr., Japanese internment, Native Americans, union organizers, and birth control, because presenting American history honestly would make Republicans upset. “
