Dreugan

I am a combat veteran, IT and Cyber professional, I am blunt and to the point, and I say what I mean.

How a person lives is not your business.

You can't solve religious violence with politics.

Your spiritual beliefs are for you, I have mine, leave it at that.

I will defend what I love to the death.

Trust me, I am very aware of the day.

Afghanistan is a different animal from the rest of the world. Russia went too hard, and we went to soft. Those people don't want to change and don't honestly care who is in charge. Had we done it that way, it wouldn't have been as protracted as it was and set them up to be a stable nation.
The Nazis and Napolean made errors in timing. That and they didn't have nukes.

And we are in the same boat. Only we can get rid of him. He is about to find us another meat grinder.
Russia has always been good at throwing bodies at a problem.

Indeed. So much so that we are far enough removed that everyone forgets that each side used to want what the other does now.

Eugenics, lobotomies, electro shock treatments, conversion therapy are but a few reasons that psychology and sociology need to be taken with a grain of salt.

Those disciplines are full of conjecture and much of the early research has been proven wrong and/or changed. Freud at the very least.
2 wars, 3 continents, 11 countries, and several thousand years of recorded history prove my point.
No one acts from a place of altruism, except for maybe the Dalai lama. Everyone wants something for their good deed.

We are animals. Plain and simple, and we act accordingly.

I've been a lot of places and seen a lot of things to know it is completely true. No offense to psychologists or sociologists, but the evidence is overwhelming.
The Stanford Prison Experiment being the most well documented example conducted by said sociologists.

I completely disagree. Humans have been like this since we laid down roots and made land a commodity and necessary for survival.
We are violent, have a high drive for self preservation, and will take what we need to live and protect our group.
We are seeing that behavior more often in our closest relatives.
We aren't as far removed from them as people think.

Which also goes against human nature. There will always be someone who wants that power and will want to keep it once they get it.
But humans aren't capable of a true anarchist system either. The vast majority need someone to follow and be told what to do. That never ends with altruism.

Communism, when the base for a national government will always devolve into a dictatorship. That is simply the nature of a single party system.
It can only be effective and remain true to its tenets as part of a muti-party democratic system.

I am for full legalization of everything with state run facilities for use and a way to offer addiction help when a person comes to that place in their lives. It would also aid in reducing some of the violence associated with them, especially cartels, because they can become legal businesses overnight.
Hell, just think what a boon it would be to places like Eastern Kentucky.

That's thing of it, isn't it? We are so consumed with our individual efforts that we fail to see what you just said. Capitalism and our current system thrive on the individual and creating divisive relationships.

We'd need to temper a good number of those libertarian expectations, though. I am not in favor of the minimal regulation that they propose.

That's not what I'm saying. Any constitutional convention now would only be to the benefit of the autocrats. We need to prevent in any way we can.

You hit a point that we, as decent human beings (I know I am not a "good" human being) need to say something when we see something. We lost that we they retreated in the USA after the civil rights movement.
We have to be vocal and be loud about that not being acceptable. It will not be easy.
I want to say I am sorry that you have experienced that. I can't imagine it, and I owe it to you to do better about calling it out.

CIA ia an easy scapegoat. And probably the wrong one, in my opinion.
It is easy to pin stuff on an agency that is secretive and well...made mistakes. I know a former analyst who is a hard-core Trumper, so it helps the narrative, but it is hard to believe it is just them. Also, working with some agency analysts and interrogators from time to time they struck me as genuine is their efforts to protect the nation.
Of course, these were not leaders either.

My experience is being the child of the parents that yanked their child away and being ignorant of it for a very long time.
Craziest part is that my mother's father was nothing like that. Thankfully, I learned from him and not them.
My Dad now has dementia and the hate flows out of him.
He always had an unkind word for Jewish people when I was growing up and after I left home.
I regret not pushing back on those things at those times.

The real question is how we actually stop the handlers behind him.
It's almost like the far right was right about the deep state, just not in the way they want it to be.

But here we are. I hear a lot of questions about who is really running things. He is a safe bet, though I would be shocked if he were not a Russia asset as well and assigned as his handler in the country.
I think the most disheartening thing in all of this is that we can plainly see how many people actually think and believe as Miller and Trump.
I liked it better when they were too afraid to show themselves in public.

Trump is already pushing things that require a constitutional convention. His support currently looks strong enough to at least get there.

2025-05-25 22:33:46 UTC

And we have a Russian asset as President. He certainly isn't smart enough to do this on his own. The story that was conveniently lost in the shuffle about his recruitment in 87 has plenty of evidence for being true at this point.
And we haven't even gotten to Stephen Miller yet.

Do you want to the US and Europe or maybe the UN to take control?
What happens if aid is cut off to Israel like you want? Does that stop any of the killing?
I really want to know what you think about these things.

While I am not against the use of Ketamine as a medical treatment for chronic pain and mental health, recreational use violates the terms of his security clearance.
If a normal clearance holder were to admit this (or smoke weed on Joe Rogan) their clearance would be permanently revoked.
