I completely disagree. Humans have been like this since we laid down roots and made land a commodity and necessary for survival.

We are violent, have a high drive for self preservation, and will take what we need to live and protect our group.

We are seeing that behavior more often in our closest relatives.

We aren't as far removed from them as people think.
