Landlord on the phone: just go on in and take whatever you want, feed on whoever you like
Vampire: trying but I can't get in
Landlord: what, but I invited you in
Vampire: yes but I can't come in, you're sure this is your home? Other people seem to live here
Landlord: yes I own it!
Vampire: you own it, but do you live in it?
Landlord: what does that matter? It's mine
Vampire: it's your *property*, it's not your *home*
Landlord: it's mine! who cares if I live in it?!
Vampire: magic law, why do you want me in anyway
Landlord: the tenants are late on rent, I figure this was a cheaper way to get rid of them...
Vampire: yeah this isn't going to work
Landlord: but don't you need to feed?
Vampire: don't worry, I figured out an alternative, thanks for inviting me in

As for Riker dating a "trans woman", Soren is technically a trans woman (she identifies as a woman and it's not the gender she was assigned at birth), and I know they intended the episode to be their "gay" episode and Frakes wanted Soren to be more masculine to hammer home the point, but they accidentally made a great trans episode.
And Riker was willing to throw away his career to rescue her. I know the ending is a bummer, but I also argue why it's so powerful and effective when I was a guest on Women at Warp to talk about The Outcast, and also why Riker is so good in it:
https://www.womenatwarp.com/episode-67-the-outcast/
(Incidentally, the reason Troi and him broke up is he prioritized his career over her. Soren's the only woman he's been willing to give it up for).

I also always liked his relationship with Deanna and I don't like that they ended up together again in the post-TNG stuff because I liked the idea that you can maintain a friendship with your ex without it deteriorating into animosity or into another romantic relationship. It was part of what really drew me to Riker, and like the maturity of TNG in general.
as to why I think Riker should have had the Enterprise, it's his "first love", the way Picard's is The Stargazer. Picard even admits as much to Scotty in "Relics", & you see in Best of Both Worlds how much Riker understands the Enterprise & its crew. I love every episode he gets to be in command, & it's his ship in "All Good Things". He turned down other commands because "it's not the Enterprise".

I picked one of the characters that gave us one of the best cliffhangers in 90s tv sci fi (John Sheridan), so now I'm picking the other for #FavCharacterW:
William T. Riker from Star Trek: The Next Generation. I know he's basically a meme now, the way Kirk is, but Riker isn't actually the himbo fratboy that people seem to think he is (also several instances of him being a "womanizer" are him being assaulted but people don't think of it that way).
Riker is intelligent, thoughtful, & open-minded, and to me he's always represented an ideal of safe and respectful masculinity.
He's clever, resourceful & beaten Picard in ship combat 3 times. I always felt like the Enterprise should have been his.
Also he's dated a trans woman & an immortal assassin, so that's also cool.

If you're having trouble donating due to an infinite loading screen, apparently turning off your ad/script blocker is the solution. Which is unfortunate. But at least there's a solution.
Or you can PayPal me at https://paypal.me/amiangelwings and I'll add you as an offline donor :)

#QuestionOfTheDay #FavCharacterAtoZ
Who is your favourite fictional character from any work whose name (if they only have one) or first name begins with the letter "H"?
Please include the series/work the character is from and why they are your favourite.
Include the hashtag #FavCharacterAtoZ also, so we can easily group the answers.
Add the hashtag #FavCharacterH to it so there's sub-sorting as well.
NOTE: you can always participate in the previous letters too, don't feel like you "missed your chance" to list your A to Gs.

This is my official post asking for help: .
I'm Ami Angelwings, owner of Escher Girls & the Twitch streamer known as Sith Princess and I need help to fund a much needed surgery to repair an internal rectal prolapse (intussusception) that has destroyed my quality of life. I can barely make it through each day.
I'm getting the surgery on June 13 in Madrid, Spain due to the medical expertise needed & willing to operate being there (I'm a trans girl who's had GRS, many surgeons we've talked to are either scared or not allowed to operate on me, esp in the US).
It'll cost about $60,000CAD, I'm trying to raise half of that.
If you can help donate or boost my GoFundMe it would mean so much to me: https://www.gofundme.com/f/nuw6ac-fund-amis-robotic-mesh-rectopexy-repair-in-madrid-spain
You can share it anywhere or to anybody you want.

Who is your favourite fictional character from any work whose name (if they only have one) or first name begins with the letter "G"?
Please include the series/work the character is from and why they are your favourite.
Include the hashtags #FavCharacterAtoZ and #FavCharacterG to it so we can group the answers.
Similar to the rules on "C" and 'D", General or other G titles don't count unless it's a proper name, so Grand Admiral Thrawn doesn't count as G for example.
NOTE: you can always participate in the previous letters too (A to F).

Remember to include the mood and hashtag #MoodMusicMonday so others can participate!.

In the old Valiant Comics Super Mario Land comic book, Tatanga comes to Earth to lure Mario in "because in this world, you only live once". And Mario gets the help of a couple teenagers (of course), one of which knows the game really well and he points out a pattern of blocks that indicates an invincible star is in it, and he asks Mario why Tatanga's minions would build things that help Mario, and Mario says they don't do it for him, they build the patterns for their own comfort and convenience, and I still think about that to this day.

Inflation is basically that thing in video games where stuff just keeps getting more expensive as you get into the later levels/zones even if the product or service itself (inn/resurrection/healing/etc) don't change, except we don't get paid more for killing stronger monsters or anything, and we don't have an airship to go back to the early zones to get the cheap stuff.

#videogame #music #vgm #QuestionOfTheDay
What is the best first level/introductory music in a video game in your opinion? Or just one you really want to share? Something that really sells the game immediately or gets you really into it or even oversells the game if it's frontloaded in a game that's otherwise not amazing?
This can be main menu music or introductory text music (Final Fantasy or Secret of Mana come to mind), the first battle music (Grandia II, FF7/8 come to mind for me) or first level music (basically every SMB game and Doom 1 for eg). But it has to be at the start of the game experience, something intended to put the best foot forward.
Post the song if you can so others can listen!
You can post as many songs as you want or respond as many times as you want. Music is life
