I unsubbed after she said, out loud, that she abandoned her dog. I asked about that on her channel to find out if I'd misunderstood her or whatever, she never responded, so I just... Gave up.

I don't know what country this was in (was it here in the US?), but for all of my 50+ years, the age of 14 means you couldn't consent even if you thought (at the time) that you wanted to. You deserved better treatment by everyone and you shouldn't have had to rent an apartment.

For your consideration:
"Welcome to the worlds' first digital doomsday restaurant! Come in! Sit a spell at a table we picked out for you, based on all your shopping and driving activity for the last 50 years, that you unwittingly gave us! No need for a menu - we've already decided for you just what you want! Now, now, shut up... You agreed to thousands of contracts without even reading them, and wouldn't you know it! That one you signed when you downloaded our partner's software came with a clause that gave us the right to do this!
You must sit here and must eat and drink everything we provide for you. Don't worry, it's all the things you've said throughout the last 50 years (or however long you've been alive if shorter than that) that you love! No need to make choices - YOU DON'T GET TO MAKE CHOICES.
Your life is ours now. Trust us. Just trust us! We're taking away your free will, even your right to leave when you want to! Oh, and yes, the bathrooms are over there, but see, we don't care which ones you want to use; we've decided FOR you which ones you are allowed to use! That's all because of the contracts your PARENTS signed when you were born, so blame them, not us!
You must hold us blameless for anything and everything. You are responsible for anything and everything. You are our property and our product now. What? You thought your information was safe with us?! Hahahaha! You signed that away too!
So, now, sit here at this table and do exactly what we tell you to, or else we'll sue you or even put you behind bars! You stupid little thing! Why can't you just enjoy all the things we have determined that you like and want?! Don't complain. You don't get to. You do that, and you will be punished!"
... and thus was the life humanity lived in 2026. No hope, no respite, here, in the Twilight Zone.

ICE is renting vehicles from Enterprise. Everyone: rent all the vehicles in your city if/when ICE is going to be there! Keep them rented until ICE moves on! They're just using a stupid "Elite" app to tell them what neighborhoods have a lot of Hispanic/Latino people living in them. They're not receiving specific orders to detain specific people. The "Elite" app DOES give them names/addresses and profiles to target, but what I mean is that there are no specific orders for those specific people to be taken in. It's a Dragnet and the "Elite" app is just showing them neighborhoods of high concentration of Hispanics/Latinos.
Anyway, when you know they're going to be in your city/town soon, just rent all the vehicles from all the rental places (all brands)! Weirdly, ICE has no mobility without those rentals!!!
Here's how "Elite" is getting used:

All the Green Party accomplishes is fewer Dem votes, and that's why MAGA keeps winning. If the Green Party wants to save America, it will disband. Same for all the other littler liberal/progressive parties. Regardless of who's right or wrong, the reality is that stealing Dem votes just exacts more MAGA madness on the American public. It needs to stop. ASAP.

#Portland Protesters, you need to bring buckets and portable fans. Buckets to put over the pepper balls that you can reach and fans to blow away the pepper spray that you can't otherwise get rid of. Fortunately, the wind often blows the pepper spray directly back at those who tried to abuse you with it in the first place, but that's not always the case. If you can render their tactics useless, they'll eventually have to stop.

Women weren't really allowed to have much to do with their own fashion for eons. It was usually men who were allowed to be the designers and tailors. It was a male dominated industry. She might have gotten a little input here and there, because of her station, however, even then, a Queen still had to answer to whoever she was married to most of the time (depending on her marital status and who inherited the throne, etc). Anyway, I really don't believe that such a high neck was a woman's idea. Queen Alexandria might have been used as the icon for trend setting, but I really doubt much that she did all her own designing and sewing.
Also, upon close inspection, you can see that this was a jewelry piece, not an actual part of the dress itself.

I know everyone hates it, but the only suggestion I have is learning to cook with soy products (for those who aren't allergic). If you chop up some tofu, add a little yellow mustard (the condiment, not the seed), some paprika, and some mayo, you can sort of approximate the taste of hard boiled eggs. At least if you have a "geographic pallet" (where cilantro tastes like soapy metal to you). If you add this concoction to cubed and boiled potatoes, you can have a pass-able "egg" (tofu) "and potato salad." It's a little weird, but at least semi-passable, for those with geographic pallets.
Also, there are vegan mayo's out there, for those who want (or have) to go 100% egg-free or even totally vegan.

Maybe what's needed then is a non-partisan company that deals with this stuff, that people can become contracted members of, which can buy the stamps, get the tax deductions, and then let people come pick up the stamps for free? Could that even work, and would that be legal? If not, then nevermind, but I do think it's unfair that businesses could at least potentially do such a thing, yet individuals definitely can not. I think it would make more sense, in the end, to update the tax code (this would mean less red tape and no one having to start a business over something like this). Anyway, just some thoughts.

All I know is that, in my country, the US, we have a hard time getting police officers to not shoot and kill people just because they feel like it. We used to have laws like, "Only shoot if in imminent danger." Now we have "Qualified Immunity" laws that basically just let police do whatever they want for whatever reason and they don't even have to give one. They've gone from being "heroes" to being thugs in uniform. Gotta have some guardrails around theme too, not just around everyone else. At the same time, too many guardrails are too many. It's a balancing act.

"Flash Flood" means "evacuate." It doesn't mean "sandbags" or "depend on the old dams." It means, "Get out of Mother Nature's way - now, not 5 minutes from now." The sympathy I have is for how people across the United States haven't been told this since childhood, in our school systems. I got lucky, I guess. My ancestors have been through some real shit and passed down what they learned back in the old days when knowledge was power.

Like I said, it's the system that really needs changing. I just dunno that this will happen in time, should that Act be brought back into consideration.

That's fair. My suggestion had more to do with trying to save us all a lot of not-being-able-to-vote if it really comes down to not getting necessary systematic changes made first. I agree, though, that the system is what needs to change, not women.

So I'm thinking the answer to this, whether it goes into effect or not, is to encourage every married woman who changed her name to get that documented in court. I know, stupid thing and all, but it's probably a good idea for other reasons having nothing to do with voting anyway. Also, that "original birth certificate" thing is lame as hell. My mother accidentally left me too close to it when I was barely able to sit up as an almost toddler, and I tore the sticker off. I've had a replacement ever since. What they gonna do about that???

I live in an increasingly blue state. For laughs, I checked my voter registration. I had been knocked off the rolls and had to re-register even though I voted in the primaries. Everyone, make sure that didn't happen to you! Don't assume it won't.

When I was growing up, it was uncool to wear white because of dirt, water, and periods. Weird how that slippery slope goes through history...

Here's a meme I made that goes into the details too. People can download and use it as needed.

If you vote for Trump, you are a foolish, racist monster. It's not too late to disavow him and the Republican Party that put him on the national and International stage. You can go Independent. You don't have to go Democrat. Just please, leave Trump's Republican Party behind. You don't want their sins on your head.

I have a relative who does that. Here's what I do:
1. Remain calm and remember that what I have to say matters.
2. State facts that support my point.
3. Trick them into thinking they've won so they'll shut up.
4. Take mental note never to discuss even adjacent topics to the original topic of discussion, with this person, ever again.
Works every time.

So tired of everyone splitting hairs over different Executive Dysfunction Disorders. Look, if you're a kid or an adult and you're struggling with school, socialization, or work in ways that most other people at least appear not to be, then you probably have one or more Executive Dysfunction Disorders. Considering how there are so many overlaps between Autism, Aspergers, ADHD, NVLD, & PDD-NOS, honestly, at this point, I think it doesn't matter.
What's needed is a way for people to identify specific symptoms and then specific strategies, accommodations, and so on. At the end of the day, literally, that's what matters to those who have it and those who know/love them.
I say this as someone diagnosed with #ADHD & #aspergers who has been told "That's not possible" and then, "Yeah, that happens," and who is now realizing that I have some of the symptoms of #NVLD too, now that I've looked that up on a few related sites.
What I need is a workable plan for my adult self, not split hairs

They inspired me to do this pro-choice riff on the Trump/Vance theme song. I'm calling it "My Sister's Get a Say."
