We’re hiring a software engineer for our team at VZLU! I think the first sentence in the job ad says it all:
“Your code will control satellites in orbit.”
If you’re interested, send your CV to majda@vzlu.cz, along with a few lines explaining why we should choose you. I’d also be happy to answer any questions here.

Pokud jste spíš začátečník/začátečnice a téma vás zajímá, tak si v kalednáři zakroužkujte 8. 12. a včas šup k @nprofile…y3qy do klubu!

I have a new job! I write flight software for satellites developed as part of the Czech space program at VZLU AEROSPACE. Specifically, I work on the AOCS (Attitude and Orbit Control System) subsystem.
I started just three months ago, but it’s already turning out to be one of the most interesting jobs of my career. And that’s with exciting projects like the AMBIC and QUVIK missions still ahead.
I’m looking forward to what the next months and years will bring.

In case you thought your JavaScript build pipeline is getting too complex:

I’ve decided to stop using Bluesky and continue only with Mastodon after using both for a year and a half.
It’s quite simple:

“What happens when something we enjoy doing that took effort becomes effortless? And what happens if that original effort was a foundation on which we saw value in ourselves?”
I have exactly the same feelings regarding AI writing code as the author of this post.

“Complexity […] is fairly zero-sum – there’s a fixed amount of complexity in the problem to be solved, and you can choose to either solve it, or leave it for those downstream of you to solve that problem on their own.”
