I convinced most of my Discord friends (that I still wanted to talk to after I left Discord, lol) to install Signal; they talk to me there now. I also installed it on my mom's phone for her without asking her first. So my mom texts me on Signal now. It's pretty easy to convince people to use Signal, for some reason.
