"content": "The #Laser experiments continue! This time, I tried 18mm macrocarpa, which I have a local source for.\n\nThe cutting attempt ended with the first triggering of the fire detector on my laser (which I can confirm worked perfectly). Guess I won't be cutting through 18mm hardwood in one pass any time soon. Surprising nobody I guess.\n\nDeep engraving, however, went much better! The deepest I managed (1000mm/min, 100% power) is _over five mm of depth_.
