What makes one choose Christianity over Islam as their faith? If one's belief is monotheistic and if one's desire is to worship one god, Christianity has nothing on Islam. Even the Islam hating Judaists acknowledge the unwavering monotheistic way of Islam.

A Story I’ve Never Told

My name is Dokhtar-e Mashreghi (دختر مشرقی), or Eastern Girl. It’s a pseudonym I chose to protect my privacy while sharing my story with the world.

I’m Iranian, born into a Muslim family, a Christian by faith, and a freedom-seeker who opposes the Islamic Republic.

Iran is a diverse mosaic of ethnicities, religions, cultures, social classes, and ways of life, from traditional to modern. All these differences are part of what makes Iran what it is.

I’m just one small part of this vast and diverse society. The experiences and opinions I share here are my own, not the voice of an entire nation.

My journey is one of faith, questions, struggles, and hope. Through this space, I hope to share my experiences, my faith in Jesus Christ, and the hope I carry for a free Iran.

I’m beginning this journey under a pseudonym because some stories are not easy to tell openly.
