"Progressive economics" usually means penalizing success; redistributing wealth from those who are the most conscientious, hard-working, intelligent, and disciplined to those who are lazy, stupid, and deliberately refuse to manage ANYTHING wisely. Money, diet, sexual behavior, effort toward education... all mismanaged by the proposed recipients of the largesse of the best and brightest. There are very good reasons responsible people object to that.
