Does #bluesky know about and handle fedi accounts bridged to the ATmosphere as well as it does normal #ATproto accounts?
my understanding is that it doesn't. my guess is it doesn't do as well with blacksky accounts either. that overall, the great user experience people have there (why it feels so similar to the closed platforms) will degrade by roughly the degree that the network is dealing with non bluesky infrastructure. decentralization will be a problem for them like it already is for us.

yes other servers like NAS are here but not really cause they aren't widely federated. I'm fighting to change that, but only for servers that don't tolerate trolls.

If everybody was here, I'd recommend not following any news outlet. Follow the journalists you trust instead and consume the posts (#APnative articles, podcast episodes, videos, songs etc) that get the most boosts. From all ideological perspectives.
But mostly only proper lefties are here so far...

Social networking apps are for talking to your community. Group and chat apps. Exclude everyone except the exact people you want to hear from. #matrix
Social media is for getting the world's attention. Defined by the boost. Only exclude the people whose inclusion leads to others not participating. #ActivityPub

those soldiers didn't begin a different country and neither did the signing of the declaration. you could also trace it to the signing of the peace treaty ending the Revolutionary War or the final ratification of the Articles of Confederation. or maybe the Constitution since it was less of a real country before that. good point but IDK.

Would it be possible to have the articles/posts from flipboard.com accounts be #APnative?
For example, #WordPress and #GhostIO do this now. The post is the article. It's an innovation that should be the fedi's killer app. Creators retain control/oversight over their social media interaction in a way impossible to do on the corporate platforms.

journalists (but many others too) want a network with huge democratic reach where everyone they care about can talk to each other. open networks facilitate this if we work to let people only see what they want (no ads or corp algos, mod for unwanted mentions) and no node can block user visibility for much of the network
[see Link re bluesky. ATproto will always have this big node power problem imo]

and people can use alternatives to google...
my concern is not just about having options but how everybody using the same thing has societal effects.
people don't have to use Amazon but if that's good enough, they will. and society gets impacted.
so I see bluesky going in that direction and I can't see that happening based on AP. so I argue for helping people understand the difference and focusing on the awesome things AP could enable that's less likely under AT.

the conspiracy re #Epstein has always been that he was blackmailing famous people on behalf of various governments. why did #MAGA forget this now that #Trump is acting afraid of what blackmail exists (possibly held by #Russia / #Israel)? same with establishment Dems not connecting all their claims about him being blackmailed to Epstein. #Putin
