fox update: air line is mostly in, turns out i was able to fit it into the space between the steel beam and the drywall over it. just need a couple more fittings and then to secure it to the wall so i can screw it into the manifold. the partially dismembered 4 square box seems to be working out well and should give it a nice, finished appearance.
fox update: electrical is finally done. at least the line voltage electrical, anyway. i need to clear out and remove the old busted cabinets before the data conduit is ready to go in. ignore the two dangling receptacles, those are going onto the next pegboard panel. also, cleaned up a bunch of shit including the drill press.
unfortunately we were side tracked by a bratty mini split needing refrigerant correction. last time i used a tube of leak sealer with UV dye to hopefully find where the refrigerant is vanishing from, but there's absolutely no trace of the slightest fluorescence under UV light on any of the service valves or flare connections or coils. the only way i know it even worked was a little ring of fluorescent dye on the inside of the service port cap from touching the flare fitting that must have had a little bit left on it. i can only assume the leak is buried deep inside the outside unit behind 9000 screws and panels or ghosts are stealing my refrigerant.

anyway, the next mission after electrical is to figure out what i'm gonna do for compressed air. probably just a single air outlet, the one i moved from the other side of the garage, somewhere on the pegboard panels behind the workbench. i'll probably get a blank stainless wall plate for it and partially dismember a spare 4 square box to mount it firmly to the wall. running the air line will be fairly annoying, cause it's gonna have to go around 6 feet perpendicular to the floor joists. i'm hoping there's space between the steel beam and the OSB and drywall over it so i can follow that all the way to where an existing air line is..
i should also think about vacuum pipe before the walls are closed up. i'm already tripping over the vacuum hose and i don't like it. maybe this is a sign to go full central vacuum and leave the shop vac in the shed for wet messes. we don't need a vacuum hose reel or to deal with a long hose if there's hard pipe with conveniently located inlets around.
