Is this a riddle?
The answer is obviously Ostrisch.
What did i win?

Most people don't actually think that way, at best it is a performance that they think that way. But by expression of their behavior it would be hard to explain that they would not believe otherwise; how else became the wealthy person wealthy to begin with, of the poor person poor, if not as a result of the demonstrated behavior of their percieved value by "most people" around them.
When attacking the propaganda of the enemy, don't needlessly presume they won already when they haven't. How people signal and how they think could be worlds appart.
Its the context, or lack thereof. The price you pay for being able to reach those you try to inform. The responcibility that comes with you trade and craft is to conciously put in the effort to contextualize for yourself; your unhappiness is a mere indication of a failure to do so.
Bleep bloop, this might have been written by a robot, the gnostic prison has no exit, woes on woes, the abyss is staring back.
You mean like this?

" Now how to build a mesh relay network that doesn't rely on ISPs in order to connect 🤔... "
If you want something that closely resembles the internet as it is today, then you can't. Neither in terms of reach (global), nor bandwidth. The amount of infrastructure out there in terms of viber cables and specialized network servers is beyond non-trivial. Its like saying ''how can we dig this massive hole without any industrial machines'', while all you have access to is a spoon.
This was partly a choice though, they could have laid redundant interconnected fiber instead of the hub-and-spoke stuff we have now, atleast in certain areas like for instance here in the Netherlands. This country by itself could have bascially been one giant super computer as a result. There even were voices at the time (late 90s) to do this, but alas.
I don't think the pipes are that much of a problem though, but yes i tend to agree with your assessment of what the angle is in terms of banning the open models and maffia protection money the rest of the world.
this is so much oof that even my oof is oofing 😢
That episode has been out for a while now😅 its S2EP4
From what i understand, the php exploit is very crude and there is no guaranteed way to pull it off(atleast yet). You have to overload some system which creates this opening, so you both need to successfully overload the system (something which ironically is impossibe on very low compute systems for example) and then prey the exploid got in.
That is not to say the attack itself can't be optimized, which is where the actual worry is.
In terms of attacks a lot of these overloading attempts have been identified, but that by itself does not say any of those attacks were successful.
Rapporting this crime, this is a clear violation.
so what you are saying is we need loads of yellow paint🤔
well...guess there are three things here:
In principle there is no need for them to support millions of new users in the first place, due to how Nostr works;
Scaling a relay to support millions of users is not rocket science, servers are a completely solved problem in general;
No comment on whatever it is Primal is doing, in a way i hope their stuff just breaks down.
The ''fediverse'' is just balkanization of otherwise larger empires.
You starting to get it now? How this Nostr thing is amazing etc.?
How much work went into the bluetooth aspect of this? Because i have a robot grinding out a bluetooth engine that dynamically adjust the network topology based on the purpose and circumstances. Well, the robots are busy working on other stuff at the moment, but i have a small fleet of android devices that run live tests.
An early version of the engine is inside the current version of table mesh.
Unless you already nailed the bluetooth stuff, i could add any uses/scenarios you have in mind into the lab runs so you can eventually use the engine as well
So....was is the tone or the content of the remark, should she have joyfully declared you to be are a whore? 🤔
Perhaps one of the more difficult things to communicate (verbally), and getting to a point where someone experiences it for himself such that the point gets across and an intuition starts to build, its the matter of ''perspective'' irt Nostr.
This is because, among other stuff, Nostr changes two things, compared to the legacy platforms and two variables makes for complex systems.
With Nostr, both WHAT you look at, as well as HOW it gets presented to you, is completely flexible, whereas on platforms, mostly these two things are extremely rigid.
The rigidity has a reason, which is the 'purpose'. The content and the presentation of that content go hand in hand in order of an ''app'' to communicate to the user what the app is for. Pintrest is this moodboard type of thing, so it presents pictures in a moodboard kind of way.
Perhaps the initial reaction from a lot of people to Nostr's flexibility is disorientation, rather than recognizing the opportunities this creates.
Telling them that the same content can be shown a bunch of different ways is meaningless to them, because they lack a mental framework/understanding to comprehend.
Maybe I should frame it differently, from an angle they do understand which is how the web experience over time became bland, similar to how mcdonalds buildings became boring. The more your focus is ''the masses'', the more you seek out the lowest common denominator. Any bold, opinionated choice simply undermines your ''masses'' ambition. The ''UI/UX" landscape of the legacy platforms is not such because it is the best, and/or the most appealing; they are such because they are the least offensive to the largest share of the users.
And they need to be, they can't afford to be anything else, their whole model/architecture depends on mass adoption of their app.
With Nostr, no such pressure exists (network effect in the protocol not the location/platform blablabla), so all the sudden, liberated from this pressure, things can be hyper opinionated, hyper outputting to anyone but a few. Hyper specialized for purpose, hyper bespoke depending on the use-case.
The point is not that you can look at anything in any way, it is that you can look at what you want in the way you want. The point is not the infinity options available, the point is that within that infinity you can pick the one particular to you.

You took a robot in the knee?
Don't get me wrong, i am not praying for the apocalypse (or am I), but what if ''the web'' just starts to break down and crumble under the pressure of hacks and exploits.
Are "we" ready? Can we say 'sorry your favorite platforms are down or unreliable for whatever reason, sorry things happened to your account and/or content.....here is something that was better to begin with but also just works'
What if it was never about us winning a popularity contest, what if our job is to ensure we are the last survivor?
I think i ended up with something that i can experiment with.
Most android devices allow you to provision your phone; its this hidden mode right after a factory reset where you have to scan some QR that contains all the provision instructions.
Ive used this for my device fleet, and its pretty sweet. You can't get rid of all the google stuff, but it does make for an as clean as possible instal with non of the clutter (either simply not installed or hidden).
It should be possible to make an nsite/client, that just generates this QR locally based on some event that lists all the apps and what not. The flow then is pretty simple where you firstboot or factory reset the device, do a trick, scan the QR and it mostly is just all automatic from that point.
I can use this client anyway for playing around with my testlab/fleet, so when i come around to it il publish it. Its not some fancy root hacker OS or anything, but it should work on most android phones, and you still get regular OS updates for whatever it is your phone is running.
Oh and it gets rid of most/all the anoying alerts and blockers when you try to install an app outside of the appstore.
man.... we really should be more in the loop with this stuff :/
I just had an idea, so its fresh and i know where it came from.
Working on my stuff, i wondered how i could leverage the fleet of android devices that i have set up that my robot has full control over, for production work.
So i discussed some things with my robot, and then i started to think on how relatively cheap you can now run actual automated test laboratories; for instance giving you the results on how your phone app runs on various devices and what not.
And then i started to wonder some more, and came to the hypothesis that perhaps a cheap smartphone is the best personal server. They should be powerfull enough in terms of compute to be minimal viable; they have a familiar interface (touch screen) and backup power/battery.
If we are building an interwebz where running for instance a signer and/or relay, blossomserver, gitserver whateverserver, can be meaningfully leveraged into the day to day use; what is a sensible way to go about that for most people?
Perhaps a cheap new phone, old phone or second hand phone whatever, could, within our Nostr realm, make you minimally viable Super Saiyan.
I am not saying its a new idea, also not saying it is a good idea....but given the subject concerns where it came from, and not the idea itself; i feel more comfortable sharing a potentially stupid idea. :)

A lot of the anti american sentiment pushers don't want to wave their country flag, they are pushing for waving the EU flag instead...or the tranny one, or both to the extend they are not the same fake and gay thing to begin with.
The guy was always into product maxing, figuring out what was the best or the most optimal thing he could get for a particular category. Keyboards, speakers whatever.
The idea behind it is that it runs over bluetooth between all the devices locally. You can use a tablet or whatever as an additional screen for the board of you want.
Its fairly under tested so there might be a bunch of quirks here and there, but there are a bunch of games you can try.
Latest addition is a remix of dixit
well, case in point hahaha:

The world is full of ''communities'', where people share a particular interest and organize themselves around that interest.
Oldtimer cars, or jigsaw puzzles. Lets take the latter. You have the market for jigsaw puzzles, with people designing and selling them, you have people creating content around the puzzles discussing or solving them. There are tournaments of all sorts where puzzles are done competatively.
It does not really matter what the ''community'', or perhaps you can call it ''hobby'' is. The thing i want to draw attention to here is the interaction and organization surrounding it.
The internet facilitated a lot of these things, allowing people with shared interest to find eachother regardless of where they are on this earth, as well as give them to tools do perform these interactions and manage organizing things.
Youtube channels, websites, reddit stuff, tweets, we use what these platfoms provide in order to do all these things. Nostr is an obvious (to me/us) answer. You can create whatever bespoke app/client/enfornment for your hobby/community, on this interoperable substrate. The infrastructure won't be dependent on a particular company, and the community is never forced into some migration. Ofcourse, within that infrastrure things may shift in terms of both actors, relays and apps used, but there are always these interoperable tie-ins that generally keep things ''together''.
@npub1utx…50e8 mentioned it in its interview with @npub15u3…05rq that "Bitcoiners" are just the first ''community'' to addopt Nostr. As a result ''we'' (partially) molded the environment around this interest.
In a way, what Nostr needs, or perhaps could use/benefit from, is taking whatever particular interest/hobby you have and ''community'' you are in, to take the environment that Nostr provides and build an infrastructure for it and convince the others in the community to use it.
Not saying that it is easy/trivial, but it atleast is a somewhat clear ambition.
An agenda nip/standard becomes more valuable to more clubs of whatever kind use it to organize their meetups and competitions.
The more standards become more standard, the more the standard which these standards function becomes move valuable.
Where do we want to build and acrew the value?
I hosted a dinner last night, and abused the situation to test the new update of Table mesh with 5 people and 8 devices. It worked! There were some rough edges as well as a catastrophic failure right at the end, but that was because i intentionally tried to break things.
That was from a technical perspective, but i also observed what actually happened at the table. People were mostly focussed on their own screen/phone. They did share the experience, but the attention was not focussed on the center of the table where normally the board would be, eventhough i had a tablet that displayed the board; all the information the player needed was on their phone as well, and as such never bothered to look elsewhere. This part needs some reflection as well.
That is all well and good but is the thing ready for its purpose and is it already used for its intended purpose.
In this case iirc it was your/a local church community right?
This is the reason for the phrase ''there is no global''. Yes the purpose of ''a'' blockchain is to produce a global shared state; i happen to be of the school that such that ''money'' is basically the only thing you can organize such a system for in a decentralized manner, and that that ''a'' blockchain is actually ''the'' blockchain, which is Bitcoin.
For everything else remains ''best effort'', which then ties into the point of my post that makes the point that there is enough there to facilitate such an effort, while accepting it will never be more than what a best effort can provide.
If you need assurances, you can get those in form of making some particular dude responcible and hold that dude accountable whenever something goes wrong.
This is also because, and this is related to all of this, there is this unbrigdeable gap between reality and adminitrative reality, which introduces the oracle problem. You can't get around the oracle problem, not even Bitcoin gets around it. Instead with Bitcoin, it picked a domain in which we already achieved practical global consensus; the thing it has to brigde this gap between reality and adminstrative reality for is time.
Bitcoin picked the oracle problem for which we already have a sollution, all it needed to do was introduce some margin of error, and it could lean on the fact that all the computers out there, to significant degree, already agree on what time it is. As such, each oracle claim, i.e. the supposed timestamp in the mined block, can be subject to a local/decentralized/distributed sanity check.
What you trust on when you sync the blockchain's history, which you were not there to witness its creation, is that this distributed judgement occured for each block in the moment/section of time it occured in.
The accumulation of PoW subsequently cements this distributed judgement in order to produce plausability: eventhough you have no actual way of verifying the non-triviality of the history (i.e. was the difficulty of the past actually difficult to where it took ~10 minutes to produce a block), the running process of the network resulted in this unbroken chain that leads into the ''now'' where appearently it is non-trivial (the difficulty seems such that it does take ~10 minutes to produce a block).
This is also my objection to notions that Bitcoin is time, or a clock or whatever, because Bitcoin leans on an existing consensus of time, and uses the clock in order to be what it is.
From where I stand, the only thing we are (practically) able to borrow from ''the'' blockchain, is its time-anchoring, but not its global state.
it is a bit disorienting at first, but if you play around with it a bit, it quickly unveils a bunch of superpowers, despite its rough experience.
Sir, building games IS the new gaming. It will make for an interesting GamesDoneQuick eventually.
Isnt that everything we are doing though?
ignore the clickbait title

Or associate with whomever, use the relays of your choosing, ignore grifters etc etc.
Nost is just the internet at the end of the day, its not some place, its a method
I was not refering to other usecases. I was talking about the fact that no outside force can all the sudden force you into a certain experience, given you can just use whatever client that suits you.
so....what? You spend an hour staring at the keyboard looking for the ''any'' key?
ahum, fairytale police here:
